Home Theatre System Problem

When i use my home theatre system on the blu-ray machine i only get 2 speakers working however when i use the home theatre for the internal DVD player it works fine, are some internal DVD Home theatres not compatible with blu-ray machines? any suggestions?

There's a lot of possibilities. First, check your manual to see if there's a way to get surround sound (possibly listed as 5.1 or 7.1) into your home theater system.

Assuming it accepts external surround, how do you have things wired up? If you're just using a red & white connector from your Bluray to the HT, that's stereo only, so you'll only get two channels.

If you post or send me the make and model of your home theater system & Bluray player, I'll tell you how I think it should be hooked up to get the best possible audio.

As Sam mentioned, it all will come down to how you have it all connected and the types of components you have.
