Venom - your sig looks pretty good, but for me the very bottom is cut off in the middle of the purple line.

Just make your browser view wider.

I like the sig Venom, but I'm going to miss your monorail....

About how I am feeling right now - ugh. Had a 102.8 fever last night. Thank goodness that broke. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post or not. DH and I are planning a trip for December. I have seen pics of POR and it looks beautiful. Never having stayed there before I was interested in your opinions about the rooms. Would it be worth it to splurge for the river view? Or even make the jump from standard to garden view? Not sure if it matters or not but i had my heart set on the mansions. thanks in advance.

Opinions vary, but personally I'd say at least Garden View is worthwhile just to avoid a parking lot outlook. Also, if you want to be guaranteed a room fairly close to the main areas, River View will do that (plus the views are lovely of course).

Some folks say view isn't important at a moderate as there is no real balcony, only a shared 'porch-like' walkway, and they keep their blinds shut all the time. I tend to disagree, and we like to look out and watch the world go by.

See also www.portorleans.org/faqs.php#Categories for some further discussion on the subject.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been trying to look around and see what the views look like from the garden and so on.

Sorry to hear you still are all sick, read the breakdown of the report on the first post, interesting to see what made you have to move, didn't expect that.

Hope you all are feeling better soon.

Great! Keep working on your hubby, I'm sure you can convice him. Our very first trip as a family was for 6 days. Our entire last day, my husband and I just kept saying to each other "if we just had a few more days!!" , so our second trip was 9 days, and this year we are staying for 10. LOL... we can't seem to get enough.
