I passed on this tip to my first timer friend who wanted T-Rex but couldn't get a ressie through Disney. She called direct and it worked!! Thank you all for the great advice. We will keep it in mind when we plan to go to T-Rex.

I think it's strange that they don't make more reservations available through Disney. Think about how many people just move onto choice number two because they think the restaurant is full. Seems like they would make out better if they didn't hold as many reservations back.

I thought that too but I have seen it many times where there is a huge line of people waiting and the place is full! They don't seem to have any trouble filling up the place.

Not really. T-Rex is constantly busy (as is Rainforest). Every evening I have been in DTD there has been a bunch of people outside waiting. They do take walk ins all the time which may be why they only give Disney a handful of tables.

Landry select card is good at T-Rex, Rainforest and Yak and Yet. You can also get either 10% off your bill or a free appetizer when you use the card! So you could get 3 appetizers during your visit if you go to all 3 places! That could be a savings of roughly $30-$35.

Oh and the $25 birthday reward have to be used by the 15th of the month following your birthday month.

I have to agree. Both times we were in DTD the wait line was huge! I do think they should create more open reservations slots, its a decent sized restaurant.
