We are doing a B2B at the end of the cruise so we see a few more Caribbean Islands. Couldn't stay in the same cabin as we booked the WBTA as soon as it was released and only decided yesterday to stay on the ship and do the B2B. We will be in the cabin next door for the 7 night. Never done it before so would like to know the procedure ourselves....so come on you cruising guru's.....do we pack our bags and take them off the ship or do they stay on and we get off....what's the procedure please...

Having never done a B2B and making this a 3 week cruise is so exciting....are there any more of you staying on???

I found this response on another thread

"Having done several, I can tell you that each one was different! ANd they were different from what friends have reported. What is certain is that you will get a letter in your cabin explaining YOUR process in detail.

IF you are keeping the same cabin, you don't pack up at all. If you are changing cabins, you pack up your suitcases and leave them packed in the first cabin on the last morning; the stateroom host will have them moved to the second cabin--no need to take them off the ship or put them out on the last night.

At Port Canaveral, our experience was that we were asked to be off the ship by 9:15. We were NOT escorted off, nor did we meet a CM at GS. We got off the ship with our documents and went thru Customs. We told the agent we were doing a B2B and he pointed us to the stairs that took us right back into the terminal boarding area. At about 9:45, a CM appeared and told us that they weren't quite ready for us yet--it would be a few more minutes till the previous cruise was "closed out" on the computer. At that time, she could check us in for our next cruise. That happened about 10. We did ask about upgrades and there were none available. We reboarded as soon as we had checked in (all finished before any newbies were allowed into the terminal). We had access to all open areas of the ship--pools as soon as they were cleaned (not slides as there were no lifeguards). THere was food in the Cove Cafe and beverages at the beverage station. Lunch was available as soon as boarding started.

On other cruises, there was adult food in the Cove Cafe and food for families in the Promenade Lounge...but when only a couple of families, they note that for this 1 1/2 hour period, kids will be allowed in the Cove Cafe. Obviously, the Promenade Lounge time was on the Magic; not sure if they use the Vista Cafe on the Fantasy for families....as if we don't have enough food already.

We told our stateroom host to not bother with our room since it was such a busy day for him--he did it anyhow"

Hope it helps I have had no experience of this my self though.

Norman

Hey thanks for quick response and all that information, Norman. I will cut and paste into a word doc and keep for next year.

It would be great if we didn't have to move cabins and then we wouldn't have to pack our cases (Yuck) we are now in 6011 for the WBTA and couldn't get that one again so we are next door in 6015 for the 7 night afterwards - anybody on the DIS is 6015 that we know - would they like to swap with us for the WBTA so we can stay in the same cabin??? Will buy you a drink!

Thanks again Norman for the info.

Way to go, Anna! Keep up the good work! (Yep, one bag was for us and one was for a collection at work...) But, April 1, I promise !

(Anna/PinkPug is my very special niece, for those who don't know...she and my mother were also on the 2011 WBTA and last year's EBPC...we created two cruise monsters there!)

My advice is keep checking and let the CM know you are doing a B2B. We did a Eastern/Western and when we booked we did not have the same rooms. My wounderful DW talked to a CM and we got some pixidust and ended up with the same room for both.

Hi everyone!!!

DH & I just got off the Fantasy tow days ago and signed up for this cruise!!!
I'm trying to catch up with signing up for activities, but it looks like we're a little late coming to the WBTA party...will still make the effort to join as many goings ons as possible.

We were on the Fantasy MV and the Magic Western Caribbean MV in 2002 and our first DCL, the Magic in 2000.So the WBTA will be Disney cruise #5 for us.

DH is a retired HS principal who has also lifeguarded for over 50 years-now certifies LG's in spare time.
I am a retired Middle School counselor....yes, I could write a book..........

Back in 2000, we took a group of 40 students to Barcelona...took an overnight train from there to Paris..... did another trip with 40 students the following year to Dublin & London.......yep,lots of stories there too....

DH & I are looking forward to going back to Barcelona WITHOUT 40 students in tow....... will be looking through ALLLLLLL these pages for info on hotels, as I don't remember the one we stayed at 13 years ago, although if I saw it in print I'd recognize it.....

Do remember DH ordering San Gria at a cafe' on the Ramblas - it was brought in a glass so big,we could take a bath in it......looking forward to another pitcher of those!!!!!!!!
Also remember another chaperone,a history teacher, buying a beautiful leather jacket in a small store down a side street.
DH & I were eating Tapas for the first time, but had to leave the counter before we could finish because some students were swimming off the beach..........at midnight.......time for a round-up.....all boys....wanted to feel if the water there "felt different" from the Atlantic.......they called it research......
Spent Wednesday in San Juan, on our cruise, last week. Looking forward to spending more time walking around Old San Juan. Reminded me a little of our home here in Key West, where the architecture is so beautiful too. Will need PR hotel info also.......

So glad to meet all of you!!!!!!!

Kevin thanks for the advice and will ring DCL and speak to a CM...I presume you mean a Cruise Manager?

It would be nice to stay in the same cabin and not to have to pack up those suitcases!!

Good memory! I think it was mixology. DD Jess was the beneficiary of all the drinks my mother and I didn't like (boy, can that kid hold her booze!). I remember Dennis being happy to try any and all offerings! And, of course, we were your Secret Mickey.

This trip, it will just be the three of us (so far).

yes, ours has gone up considerably since booking. Almost double, I think.

DH is really into reading - retired history teacher/HS principal-
Can I get more info about these books-full titles, authors, etc???
I'd love to surprise him with a couple before the cruise......
