Room Choice on Med Cruise

Never having been even to the Med, much less on a cruise there, I was just wondering where families have requested their rooms.

Do we want the port or starboard side?

I would just like some feed back from families who have traveled on this cruise before.

Honestly, the difference from port side or starboard side doesn't really matter. People usually choose rooms based on floor or midship, front, or stern preferences. We're booked in an inside room, front of ship on deck 7. Room placement should matter as much for the Med cruises since the Med Sea is calmer than say the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico.

It is nice to have a balcony to see the ship pull into the dock/city. Malta is a real treat seeing the island as you approach. Venice is a real treat sailing up the main canal too. You can see it all from the top decks but there is something to seeing all in your P.J.'s. In 2010 we hit a storm in the Med. and the waves were breaking above the 5th deck. It was one for the ages but the Med. is usually pretty calm.
