I'm new to this first day excitement - having done only one before and not going again until May. I don't have a dummy that I can move (live and learn). Are the opening prices better than what I'll get if I book on-board in May? I'd like to do a 9 day Alaska next summer.

Book now and then you can always reshop it while on board to see if it comes out cheaper then w/ the OBB and OBC. Since Alaska is pretty popular, I'm betting that'd opening day & even tomorrow would be cheaper.

I would have loved to have booked a Southern Caribbean cruise, but the dates will clash with a planned trip to England in 2014. So I'm moving my reservation to December 2014 for a birthday cruise. The itinerary includes a stop in San Juan, which is great. And gives us a chance to have time in WDW. And before then we'll know what's up in 2015 and might even swing it over to 2015!

Called through the Castaway club number and am being told my wait time is "greater than 15 minutes"

As itineraries go, I like the Southern Caribbean one. I'd like it even better if they sailed there in December or January rather than September and October!

I doubt I'll book anything tomorrow. I have a dummy booking I plan to move to the 2014 DIS Podcast cruise - when they decide which cruise that will be.

GOT 11/29 2014 Fantasy 2 AFT rooms 7th floor connecting !

Just what I wanted

Had AFT rooms oversized balconies this past December, 7th floor best rooms ever!!

Was the persons first caller. Was looking for any date Nov or Dec except holidays. Was very difficult even as agent saw rooms flying off her screen!

And NO there were no problems this past December with my two Aft rooms as some said ???????????????

Transfered 2 dummy res from this past Dec with NO problems!

OUCH OUCH OUCH.......only had to be on hold for 27 minutes (through the CC line), but the quote was painful:

9-night Alaska cruise on 5/24 is $6,193 for 3 adults in a secret verandah (navigator verandah's pricing). That is VERY high considering we did a Holland America 20-day cruisetour last year that included lodging and some meals on the land portion and all ground transportation and that was less than $10,000!

Still waiting to hear from my TA about the December 2014 Fantasy cruise.

i sent my request to Tracey at Dreams Unlimited - she'll be able to book me only tomorrow (i'm silver)..

i'm very excited that DCL has med cruises in 2014 that don't involve embarking or disembarking on Saturday (saturday embarkation/disembarkation is a problem for DS and his wife)...

so now i'll be able to book a cruise for all 6 of us together out of Barcelona...
and with my Spanish speaking daughter in law (from Chile), we should have an easy time of it in Spain.....though i really do hate barcelona - but the venice cruises all either start or end on a saturday...
maybe we'll do a day or two before the cruise in barcelona and then after the cruise head for italy by train... i'd much rather do a post cruise trip in italy than spain...and then fly back home from italy...i'll have to see if we can fly into barcelona and then out of italy...

whatever - it's a long way away....lots of time to plan plan plan plan plan (i love long build ups to cruises - much more fun that way)..
