Is it wrong to be so excited by a phone call?

My family (me, DH, DD 22, her future fiance, and DD 17), are heading out this summer on our 8th DCL adventure (future fiance's first!), and first time concierge. Concierge rooms are the secret, but we are celebrating High School and University graduations with honours, acceptance to University for youngest DD with scholarship, an 18th birthday in the middle of the cruise, and an engagement (if DD's boyfriend can wait that long ). If we are going to celebrate, now is the time!

Just a few minutes ago, I received a call from a really nice guy named Erik from Shoreside Concierge. I can not tell you how excited I was to get this call, I wasn't expecting it, at least not yet, and was taken by surprise when he asked how to help. I am now just sitting here with a huge grin, so excited by a simple phone call! I can't believe how a little phone call can fill be with such joyous anticipation!

All I can say is, with the money we are spending on this trip, so far I am thinking it will be worth it, if this call was any indication!

I just hope I don't get spoiled by concierge and that balcony room on deck 6 just will never be the same.

It sounds like you are going to have a great time! I have never taken the plunge for Concierge and don't know if we ever will, but the phone call sounds dreamy!. What an awesome secret! Big congrats on your DDs!

I know exactly what you mean! We are sailing concierge for the first time this April, and I was so excited to get that phone call (also from Eric)

How many days out did you get your call? We sailed concierge before, but booked really late so didn't get a call. Did you pay in full before they called?

I believe the call came a week or so before the 120-day mark when we could start booking Port Adventures, Palo, etc. We did happen to be paid in full (in ancipation of our activities booking window opening), but we are traveling with friends who delayed their pay in full a bit and still got a call.

Shandrananette, my 120 day mark is this Friday, and I have not paid in full at this time, though I will on Thursday. I was told that they can't actually book anything until I pay in full, but Erik started a "calendar reminder" with what I would like booked.

I am so thrilled I won't have to stay up late or wake up early to book the things my family desires!

And thank you for the those congratulations! DH and I are very proud of our girls, for we know the hard work that went into their accomplishments. And of course, the good choice my eldest made with future fiance!

I had to smile with my girls' response when I asked them what they wanted to do with their respective graduations and birthday. Both girls asked for one last memory making vacation (since after college, eldest will be moving on to her future ) instead of graduation or 18th birthday parties. And, since the youngest has been wanting to go to Palo since our first cruise over 11 years ago, we had to do this one when she turned 18.

So I suppose you can add one last family vacation with the four of us at the beginning (AKL before crusie) with an interloper joining us on the Fantasy, as another reason for the big adventure. Just won't be the same after this summer, especially since we will not have any money left!
