As long as there is someone to take a bus, there will be one. They won't leave anyone stranded.

My most recent cruises on HAL and NCL America, you could stay in your stateroom until 9 and 10am, and somehow they managed to get the ship turned out for the next passengers no problem.
It is interesting that most hotels allow a Noon check out, and have rooms ready by 3 pm for check in.

Even on Silversea, where there are only 350-400 guests on the ship and everyone is in a suite, you still have to be out of your room by 8:00-8:30. If there are reports that some other lines allow passengers to stay in rooms until 10:00 AM, those ships are either extremely overstaffed, or I would have to question how well those staterooms are being cleaned during turn around. We have been on quite a few different lines over the years and it has been our experience that 8:00-8:30 is it. Maybe there are exceptions where the ship is only partially full and the next cruise is also only partially full, so there are less cabins that need to be cleaned so guests could stay in rooms later, but this would likely not be the normal procedure.
