Having ECV delivered to resort...what to do at airport?

My mom can't walk long distances. She has never used a scooter but we are renting and having it delivered to resort. Are there typically wheelchairs free to use within airports? Im nervous about making her walk a long way to/from gate and standing in long security lines.

Arrange with your airline for wheelchair assistance before leaving. They will wheel her from the check in desk to the airplane and then from the plane to where you need to go after that. You will need to tip the porters. They will also help her thru security.

We always requested a wheelchair through our airline when my grandma traveled with us. They always had an employee wheel her through security and at our destination they would meet the plane & escort her to baggage claim and to the shuttle area

We are flying Jet Blue from Boston and have a similiar situation with my son. Are there wheelchairs at the airport we can use or do we have to set it up prior to going and landing. We are bringing his scooter but I cant see him using the scooter when we land in Orlando and have to get on that monerail to get to the Magical Express area... I know he will need a wheelchair.

I use my scooter to and from the plane each time I go. It is very easy to get on the monorail at MCO with a scooter. I would just use that rather than try and arrange for a wheelchair.

Also if the airline will not let you use the chair while you wait for the bus you can tell the CM at magical express that you need to sit and wait for the bus and they will take you tothe front where they have some benches.

Let the Magical express people know that you need a lift-equipped bus and they will let him take his ECV right on the bus. It is what I do. Also, you should have no problem gate-checking the ECV. They will bring it up to the plane when you arrive in Orlando and he can ride it through the airport. The monorail is easier than the one at WDW because it has a level entrance. That is the only way I can travel. I take the basket off and put the charger in it to carry on board the plane--it doesn't count against your carry on allowance. It is really easy.
