Disney World was Robbed

Of a Great Opportunity.

We just returned from a great trip to DLR and I am in awe of what they have.

With however many millions spent on FLE we got another hub and spoke ride, a lame dark ride about being under the sea with creepy looking characters and no water, a nicely themed restaurant, and some cool special effects that require you to sit through a first grade play to see.

DLR received Cars Land. The whole land is much more amazing than FLE, and is on par (or I thought better than) WWOHP. The Radiator Springs ride is so cool. The animatronics blow away the Ariel ride (that was a walk on at DLR while Radiator Springs ride was an 85 minute wait). The tires and Mater rides are cute and not rehashes of what we already have in other places. No sit down restaurant, but Flo's and the Cozy Cones are cute and fun places to get food. This is hands down a great addition to DCA.

I truly wish they would have left Pooh's play area and spent the money to give us Cars Land. I am sorely tempted to dump our October trip to DW and go back to DLR. Most rides are the same or better out there. You really should go if you get the chance.

Everything that they've said points to some variation of Cars Land ending up at DHS. Of course, now that Disney owns Star Wars and has approved five new franchise movies, it would not be a shock to see some major Star Wars love happening at DHS.

But Disneyland doesn't have Epcot or Animal Kingdom, so in my book WDW will always win.

I don't think it was robbed. DL/DCA needed some serious loving. Carsland is fantastic and I think it would be a shame for it to be redone at wdw, its nice for DL to have its own unique draw card. I would however love a pixar land at HS

We are Disney World only people. With 47 square miles controlled exclusively by Disney I know that 100% of my trip will be filled with magic. From the hotel to the parks I am immersed. Add in Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney, and 4 wonderful parks I will always be a WDW fan

We're the winners. If you have the opportunity to visit DLR you should. You don't need to pick one over the other as better. We can love them both.

The people on this board are going to crucify you for saying that.
PS - you forgot to mention a Butter Beer knock-off that is disgusting..

I'm very happy with what we have at WDW. I keep getting drawn back, so it must be awesome. I am just grateful to be able to go to WDW in a time when not a lot of people have what they used to have. I am in my fantasy world there, so it doesn't matter to me if we get a Carsland or if nothing changes. That's just me though. I have never been to DL, but I feel no draw to go there. I love my WDW.

I agree. If I'm ever CA I would go. But to travel all the way across the country when I can be in DW in a couple hours... not gonna happen. At least not anytime soon.

Now that is the catch here isn't it? Those of us on the East Coast have the opportunity to go see 4 parks, DTD and all the other bonuses of the larger WDW without 7-10 hours of flight time. I have never been to DL, but my understanding is you only need about 3 days in the parks to see just about everything. The travel it takes for 3 days is a tough nut to swallow. Plus when I fly to the west coast, it takes me day or two just to wind down. For that reason, I will only go to DL if I have other plans in the area. I would like to visit at some point though.

It's a dream of mine to go to DL. One day.....one day.

I wouldn't make the trek just for DL, but i would also hit other places close by.

There is a LOT to do in Southern California than just Disney! I l loooove San Diego, and I love DLR.
That being said, we are about to fly to WDW (7 hours, including connections, and a 3-hour time change) when DLR is a 2-hour flight in the same time zone!

I love both parks for what they are. Each has it's own character.

Where I think WDW was robbed was with Space Mountain. The DL version is hands down better.

With the money spent in the past few years on expansions, I do feel that Disneyland got the better end of the bargain with the offerings/additions.

I still prefer WDW between the two.
