Tour books.... paper or ebook?

In planning for a non-Disney trip I was planning to get a book for the area. I am trying to decide whether to get the traditional paper version or an ebook version.

Obvious reasons for paper are I can leave it home after the trip and I can sell it on ebay if I choose after the trip.

Obvious reasons for ebook are one less thing to carry and cheaper price.

All thoughts appreciated....

I had Rick Steve's book for Rome on my iPhone. It was invaluable to have that information right at my fingertips when we toured the city on foot. It was worth it even though I cannot sell it as a used book. I'd rather carry my phone with me than drag a copy of a guide book. It was also easier to look things up using the ebook than it would have been to page though a DTB.

I'm currently in a position where the book I want isn't available as an ebook. So.... get a book I'm not as happy with for the convenience, or get the book I want and lose the convenience.

Decisions, decisions!

eBooks all the way!! Last summer we went to China, visiting 3 different areas. It was nice to have multiple books on my Nook, to refer to when I wanted. I probably wouldn't have brought all them along on the trip if they were paper, to be honest - too much bulk. They definitely wouldn't have made it into the carry on bag, and I spent more time reading them in the airport between cities than anywhere else!

what I did is get a pile of tour books from the library, and then I bought one for my kindle that I liked the best, since I know I'll have it with me,and it has all the maps and touring tips in it.... for both disney and non disney trips I've been doing this..... it's allowed me to read the book, then on my reader I can highlight notes and pages to find easily....otherwise I wouldn't remember all the places I want to see....

I love eBooks but for reference books I prefer real books. I also got a bunch from the library and chose my favorites from there.

A lot of the ebook versions of references don't format right. If there are charts, maps, call out boxes, etc, they can look funny or be hard to read. I had this problem with the 2012 Unofficial Guide, What to Expect when you Are Expecting, and BAby Bargains. It all depends on how the publisher formats the ebook version.
