Need Palo Help

We've cruised Disney before, but never on a long one. So haven't had all the theme nights. We are on an 8-night Bahamas out of Galveston. For mdr purposes it's a 7-night as we have an open night on our Disney day.

We are all doing a Palo brunch but could skip dinner as to not miss anything in the MDR's. My DH however really wants to do Palo for dinner.

Which mdr dinner would you miss?

I realize it's personal preference but would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks!

i would do Palo on Pirate Night -- least favorite menu. DCL usually schedules two nights in each of the MDR's, and the extra night, pirate night is a 3rd trip to one of the MDR's. So if you went to Palo on Pirate Night you'd still get two nights in each MDR. On the classic ships they don't start the pirate party til about 9:45 so you wouldn't miss any of the evening programs either.

I would pick one of your two (or three) nights in Parrot Cay. That is our least favorite restaurant.

If you book Palo for 4 adults and change it to 2 do you loose that money?

for our 8-Night cruise out of Galveston next week 2/15/13, we have the following:

1. Rotation
2. Formal Night
3. Rotation
4. Rotation
5. WDW
6. Pirate Night
7. Semi Formal
8. Farewell

recommend PALO for the following reasons:
I would recommend night two since it is already formal.
I would recommend Pirates Night
Semi Formal will be Lobster night if that matters.

hoipe this helps.

Never had an official formal night on DCL. I know it's prince/princess themed. Anything special in the mdr's?

Thanks!

Although I hear a lot of the time to book it on Pirate night, the Pirate menu was one of my favorites! Maybe we just got lucky that night, but the mahi mahi was delicious and the conch "chowdah" was yummy! That said, there wasn't anything I really enjoyed at AP and even the oft-raved about pasta pursettes were just okay to me.

That said, food is such a preference thing, so just go with what works best into the schedule for your family! There's no wrong night to do Palo!!!

Formal Night on 7-nighters is usually the Golden Mickeys, not Prince & Princess. Shorter cruises have a "dress-up" night (not specifically Formal or Semi-Formal) but I don't know what the theme is.

Have been skipping Pirate Night lately. Been there, done that, and we're all tired of the menu. If you want to go to the pirate party, book early dinner and you'll be out in time for it.

You're not charged at booking.

Nothing special on formal night except they go around a take pictures at dinner. The menu is the same for all of the restaraunts that night also. If you are not really dress up folks, but will for a dinner, then knock both out on the Formal Night. I do like lobster so the semi-formal night is out for me.

If you want to skip a rotational dinner, I would skip PC. You can and ask that your rotation include PC on a specific night. You can always try to reschedule once on board.

The Magic does not have the Golden Mickeys. Formal night is the Prince & Princess menu.
