Please help with cruise ship choice

We are looking at a 4 night Bahama cruise from Port Canaveral in March 2014. There is a cruise on the Dream and one on the Magic to choose from. For similar rooms, the Magic is about $600 cheaper. Three adults and two kids (9 and 11). Kids really want to do Aquaduct ride, but I'm leaning toward the Magic. Cheaper and less people for Castaway Cay. Any opinions out there???

I would choose the Magic.

My kids are 14 and 12. They prefer the classic ships.

They hated waiting in the long long to ride the Aquaduct.

I gave them a choice of 8 night Magic or 7 night Fantasy and they choose MAgic.

ETA: We sail in 50 days!

The magic will be refurbished this fall, therefore there's stuff that will be new. I think it's a good idea to be honest. Rumor is there won't be an Aquaduck but they will be adding something (maybe a slide). They will more than likely add magical portholes - specially if you are looking at inside cabins. Same goes for the restaurants. Rumor is on a redesign of AP to be similar to the newer ships...

I'd say convince them and save the money...

Go with the Magic, hands down. Less people, fresh out of a refurbish, spend that $600 on the ship itself or on rebooking.

I would vote for the Magic. We've been on the Dream 3 times and we still prefer the Magic and she will be refurbished. Out of our 3 times on the Dream, my DS 15 has only been on the AquaDuck 2 times.

Unless the kids are paying their own way, sail on the Magic. The Aquaduck should not be a deal breaker. Uncrowded Castaway Cay is a great reason too.

We LOVE the Magic. We're looking at a 4 night to the Bahamas in March 2014 also and I got super excited when I found out we could go on the Magic! This will be our 3rd cruise on this ship and we just love the design and the service and everything about it!
With the extra savings, I say go for it!

Happy planning!

I too would choose the Magic. The classic ships are amazing. I haven't sailed the Magic but have done the Wonder and the Fantasy. The Fantasy is fabulous but the Wonder was smaller and more intimate and just as nice. I would love to sail her again!

I wonder what DCL's reaction is to threads like these. I know what it will be " Magic is priced too low"

By moving the Magic to PC, they have the Magic competing with the Dream. Is there really that many people looking for 3/4 day cruises?

I too say Magic.
