DVC on the DCL

I received a call today inviting me to a DVC get together on my cruise next week. What exactly is this get together? Is this something that I bring my kids to?
Thanks in advance

They invite DVC members to a meeting. Usually hand out gifts and discuss the current DVC deals. Very low key sales pitch, but the gifts are worth the time. You can bring the kids, but if they are young, they may be bored. But make sure to ask for extra prizes for them.

We attended a get together on our Jan. 12 Fantasy cruise. I agree that the sales pitch is low key. We were given hats, reusable cloth shopping bags, leather portfolios and also won a mesh bag and water-proof holder for our KTTW card. They also served champagne or mimosas. Very pleasant and not too long.

No questions, the mouse knows all!
If you are DVC, paying on points or cash, it is cross-referenced in the computer system. You should have a DVC member emblem on your door upon arrival at your stateroom, get a gift or two during the cruise depending on the length, and an invite to the members only reception if they are having one on your cruise. If, for some reason, you do not have any of these things, go to the DVC desk, inform them that you are a DVC member, and be put on their list.

Went for the first time last May and we won't ever miss it again! Free mimosas during the meeting were great...very low key sales pitch...onboard credit draw...couple hats, bags and portfolio too! Plus we got gifts in our room almost every day!

On our Dream cruise last week, the first day they had champagne and gave out bags with hard and leather portfolio. They also did a draw for 200 OBC and my DH won. I could not get DD out of Kids Club the first day so I did not attend. I did go on the 2nd day and there was no champagne, or hats but they did have the bag with portfolio and sales material. On the first night we had a box with a lanyard and a note to collect a pin from the DVC desk. I don't remember a magnet but I do see one stateroom had one in their door. Must remember to get one next time!

Definitely worth it to pop in. I went and grabbed a glass of champagne, two member hats a some other goodies and then left to enjoy the cruise.
I did end up adding points after reviewing the sales info in my free folder..You can never have too many points!

They never know when we are on board so don't feel bad if they don't know.

It was definitely fun when we went last time. They had some sort of contest answering questions about DVC.

It is a time share sales pitch. They ply you with champagne and mimosas, show you videos, play trivia (if you fill out all the info on the card) and give you promotional stuff like hats and pleather portfolios. The last one we went to was kinda painful, but at least we stopped eating for an hour.

And BTW, we did add-on DVC points on a previous cruise. Got a huge on-board credit.
