Best way to travel from the park to the cruise

Best way to travel. I am staying at Disneyworld for a week then going on the cruise. What is the best and financially smart for a family of 4 to go from the hotel to the ship and from the ship back to Orlando airport?

It will be $35 per person, each way (you'll need transportation back to either Disney or airport).

Using a towncar may be less expensive...... Tiffany town cars is one.

Best for you might not be best for me. I take the Disney transportation.

But I'm one person and I'm not in a hurry.

DCL's transfers cost $35 per person, each way. That's $280 for a family of 4. For a group of more than 2 or 3 I would look into a car service. You get a private ride, you may get to leave earllier, and it might actually be cheaper.

Tiffany will run $145 (one-way) from WDW to PC in a town car. DCL will be $140 for a family of 4 one-way from WDW to PC.

They've negotiated their price with me, hence the "may".

Here's what we do. Tiffany Car service over to the terminal. This gets us there earlier, by ourselves and also allows for a store stop (for wine or anything else you want for the cruise). Then, we use Diseny transportation back to the airport. This saves us from lugging our bags thru customs and the airport.

Where was your store stop? When we took Tiffany car service in October the driver insisted there was no store between the airport and the ship. This was the night before our cruise and when we checked into a hotel in Cocoa Beach, the desk clerk said there was a store just down the street. So DH took a cab there the next morning.

Anyway, if you really want the car service to make a stop, make sure it's written in the contract so the driver can't play stoopid on you.

We will rent a car. They have a shuttle from the car lot to the port terminal.

We also will rent a car. A car is about $80 each way, so $160 versus $350 (we have 5 ppl).

We had 5 in our family last Fall when we went. We used a car service, FLTours, which provided a van from our Disney Resort to the terminal. We were able to set our pickup time which we put early so we were in the first group boarding the ship. Disney transportation will get you there much later. Besides some other families, we had the pool to ourselves for a while, first to get chairs on the one side of the pool and no line for the Aquacoaster.

We also used them when we departed to get us to the airport. We had the later seating for breakfast and we were done & out in plenty of time.

Disney really doesn't get you there "much" later. In fact, I like that I am not there first and just waiting all day in the terminal with tons of people. When Disney gets there, you just walk right on the ship.

Also, don't discount the fact that if you are staying at Disney, you put your tags on your bag in the am and they come and get your bags from your room and the next time you see them, you are in your stateroom on the ship.

I personally love the convenience.

My DF couldn't get his head around using any other form of transport apart from the Disney bus to the port... his comment was 'why would I go from a Disney hotel, to a non-disney car, to a Disney cruise? I want Disney all the way!'

So yeah, we'll be getting the bus haha
