Was Superbowl power outage a thwarted Terrorist Attack?

I'm hearing rumors anyone else? I'm not sure how that could be covered up but I wouldn't put anything past Jerry Jones and the NFL LOL, just kidding. But there is supposedly going to be some big announcement as to what happened or something. Hmmmmm

*** does Jerry Jones have to do with the SuperDome in New Orleans?

IF all the lights had went out, I think terrorist attack would certainly have been in many peoples mind.

Only thing I've heard, which is decidedly less scintillating, is that SuperDome engineers were very concerned as much as a year ago about the facility's ability to sustain loads from their supplier, so much so that it led to the replacement/upgrade of some of the power switching equipment in use at the point where the provider's supply meets the customer's entry point (demarc). As is typical in many of these kinds of physical maintenance situations, I'm going to surmise that some, but not all, the relevant equipment was replaced, and some that didn't failed at the worst possible time. To say nothing of the fact that, despite a bunch of upgrades during the overhaul after Katrina, a bunch of the other systems were still in need of upgrades, from what I've read.

Like I said, not nearly as sexy or headline-grabbing an explanation, but far more likely IMHO. We'll see.

Yeah the part about Jerry Jones was a joke, see JJ and Robert Kraft and the other big NFL owners OWN the NFL not just their teams, so they like control the NFL, with all the other owners. But it was a joke.

They've had documented power issues at the Superdome for some time now. Cables were decaying. They replaced some of them in Dec,apparently they should have replaced more.

They're saying Jerry Jones was involved somehow? Why would the Dallas Cowboys owner be covering up the cause of a power failure at the New Orleans Superdome?

Plus, New Orleans and the Super Bowl organizers were touting the game as being the greenest Super Bowl. A green energy failure....

I'm sure more than a few people were waiting for something to happen when the lights went out. "Black Sunday" came to mind, even though they couldn't bring a blimp in.

Apparently there are actual pictures of Jerry Jones ripping out power cords before being carted off screaming "I'm in control!!! I'm in control!!!" All we can gather is he has snapped somehow after another 8-8 mediocre season, and was under some delusion that the Cowboys were supposed to be in the Superbowl. But we don't know yet.
