Anyone ordered a GF specialty cake?
And not the allergy free one that is also egg and dairy free? I'm hoping to special order a cake for our anniversary while we are at WDW and I've seen at least one pic of a specialty cake that was done with GF cake, but the regular buttercream, special filling and fondant fancy decorations. Wondering how it tasted as DH is not GF, but I'd rather not purchase two separate cakes just to have something I can eat. I already have to get a different cake for another celebration as my ODS is allergic to rice so he can't have the GF options.

We've done one, and none of the people who could eat gluten complained. As I recall, Boardwalk bakery used namaste cake mix for the gluten free cakes. The buttercream and white chocolate mousse were the same as you'd get in a regular cake.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I have had a few Namaste products. It's been a while but I remember them being decent. Glad to know Boardwalk Bakery was able to make one as well as I think that is who I would use so I can pick it up and bring it back to the resort.
