Pull down bunk bed

Just a little over 2 weeks until our first disney cruise!! Question about the pull down bunk bed. Can the you put the mattress on the floor? I have a 9 year old with very mild cerebral palsy and he doesn't climb well. Also have a 3 year old that gets up in the middle of the night so I don't want to put her up there either. Thanks

I don't think it's removeable. But, I think the lower one folds out so both children can share..Not for sure tho..

It depends on the ship/room. Most sofa beds are the type that the back folds down (like a pullman berth) and is a twin bed size. There are some sofa beds, sorry I don't remember what category, but they are on the Dream class ships, that fold out like a regular sofa bed and is double bed sized.

Talk to your stateroom host about what you need done the first afternoon onboard. I know that they have extra mattresses and cots onboard. When DD had a sleepover in a friend's room with another girl the host put an extra mattress on the floor and made it up.

This is a picture of our stateroom all made up for night. I'm not sure, but it looks like we could have taken the mattress off of that top bunk.

Do you know what room you're in? Sounds like one of the ones with a bunk and murphy beds would work best for you, so no one needs to climb...

Yes, your stateroom host/ess will put the mattress from the top bunk on the floor for you. They've done this for us on 2 cruises now. Just be forewarned that they don't actually put it back up in the top bunk during the day time. They put it behind the cushions on the couch. The result is that the back of the couch sits much more upright. It's fine for the kids to sit and watch tv on, but it's not the most comfortable couch for an adult. It's kind of like sitting on a very straight-backed chair.
