Can 6 stay in one room at Universal?

Online it will only let you choose 5 people in the room, but if one of the people is a 2 year old, is it possible to stay in one room at one of the universal hotels?

Ok, so it's going to be too expensive to stay at one of the universal hotels. Anything in the general area that offers a FREE airport shuttle?

nearly anything is possiblebut if you're asking if it's permissable to have 6 people in a standard room, the answer is 'no'. From the RPR website:

King Rooms - up to 3 guests* (rollaway rental needed for 3rd person)

Two Queen Rooms - up to 5 guests* (rollaway rental needed for 5th person)

* Maximum occupancies may require a rollaway at $25 per day. Only one rollaway is allowed per room. King Rooms have bedding for 2, requires rollaway for 3. Double Queen have bedding for 4, requires rollaway for 5. Available on a first come first serve basis. Additional charges apply for more than 2 adults guests per room

fyi, i've been in same position. It's better to book two room at the least expensive hotel (typically RPR) and request connecting rooms, either King/2 Queens or 2 Queens in each room. Even if doing a rollaway there for 5 people, the rooms are small (355 sq ft) and the rollaways large enough that it's .

There are two problems with trying to put 6 in a room (other than it is against fire regulations). In order to get into the parks with early admission, each member of your party must show their room key. Also, for express pass access, each person must have their photo express card that they get at the hotel by entering their specific room key. Only 5 room keys will be handed out, so it isn't possible for you to get 6 express cards.

I have heard that if the child is 2yo then he/she would not be issued a room key or express pass since children under 3 are not charged admission to the parks. You should contact the hotel to make sure.

So the hotel actually takes a photo of the guest for their express pass? I haven't been in 2 years, did they just recently start that? Does their picture show on their pass? I'm confused.....I thought you used your room key for your express pass?

Like the OP, we are also a family of 6 and also new to Universal, so have been reading these boards on accommodations and pricing around, and I recently posted questions here. From the info on these threads, my understanding is that everyone with a Universal ticket who is listed in the room/rooms (i.e. party of 1,2, 3, 4, 5.....) gets a photo pass for the express line , and this does not include under 3s who are free and therefore have no ticket. I called and asked the hotel to make sure we didn't need a ticket for the 2 year old to use the express pass. (Only a few rides for them anyway). (As a side note, it is $63 to book the transport the on-site hotels use for a one-way to the airport for up to 8 people. That is booking thru the car companies website, Mears. I did not price a return as we have a rental car for part of our trip).

They started the new procedure last spring I think. People were abusing the old EPs so they decided to separate them from the hotel key and require a picture. There's a kiosk at each hotel that takes your picture and prints out the EPs. It's not a big deal.

You take your room key to a machine and put your rooom key in and then you get your picture taken. In RPR the machine is to the right of check-in by the Concierge desk.

It prints off your picture onto what is now your EP. It has your same details on it.

It`s the same size as your room key so fits in lanyards easily.

There is also machines in the park I think.

This started last year. It takes a few moments.
