My mom is Clarice Mae and my dad is Donnie Ray

If I ever had a little girl, her middle name would have been Claire after my mom

Oh, and my sister and BIL like the family names--first son is Jackson(our maiden name) Burley( a family name on BIL's side)
Second one is Tyson(BILs mom's maiden name) Barefoot(my mom's maiden name)

And me? I named my kid a name I liked, LOL and gave him his dad's name as a middle -- Torin Scott

No really out there names in my family, but I am a very Irish looking girl, with a very Italian middle name. My mom gave me the name after her grandmother (who was a very cold mean woman from what I've heard, so I'm not exactly proud to have it)
My middle name is Concetta. But my mom didn't pronounce it the Italian way of Con-chetta but instead she pronounced it con-setta, either way, it doesn't fit my face. LOL

My grandmother on my father's side was named, "Zelda". I can't remember her middle name.
My great grandfather's name was Ignutz. Heehee.

I did however have a friend in grade school name Iva Myrtle. Iva is kind of pretty, but she went by Myrtle.

My great-grandfather's name was Pliny. My great-great grandmother's name was Edwidge. My great-great-great...grandfather's name was Gaspard Boucher. He's also an ancestor of Hillary Clinton and Angelina Jolie. My personal favorite is Humility Cooper. She was the cousin of my ancestor Henry Samson.

:My grandmother had an aunt Thornhilda and an uncle Aloysius. If I'm ever pregnant again that's what I'm going to say when people ask if we've picked any names.

Thankfully, nobody in my family actually has a bad name. But we did have a near miss when one of my cousins was pregnant with her son...

She's a southern belle from Georgia.
She wanted to name the boy after our grandfather and her DH's grandfather.
Which would have resulted in William Robert.

Now...nickname-wise...think about it...

(...almost had us our very own Billy Bob...)

In doing geneology I think the worst one I came across was Festus. Who would name a sweet little baby FESTUS?!?!?!
Festus was also the name of a character in the old TV show Gunsmoke.

My maternal granny: Mildred Guertrude

Now my dad's name is: Alvern. We think our grandmother made that name up.

My grandmother had an aunt named Zephyr. I think her grandfather's name was Matlock. When my sister was pregnant with her last child, I went through the family history and wrote down all the funny names for her. Unfortunately, she didn't pick any of them!

Btw, there are several Parmelias in my day's ancestry, too!

Ellsworth must have been popular at one time. My great-great grandfather was Ellsworth Elwood and his son was Ellsworth Elwood Jr.
