You win hands down!

Eh, the only one I can think of was my great-grandmother who lived to the age of 95. Her first name was Ida. Everyone in the family called her Da for short.

My maternal grandfather was Harvey Woolsy Hyde
Maternal grandmother Sina Reed Hyde

The name Risden is unusual and runs down my paternal side. Unfortunately my brother was the last Risden Fountain but my grandson #1 is Risden Thomas but his last name is not Fountain.

My grandmother was Elsie Lavina. My mom wanted to name me Lavina after her. THANK GOD someone intervened! My grandfather was Nevin.

In doing geneology I think the worst one I came across was Festus. Who would name a sweet little baby FESTUS?!?!?!

My Nannie was named Ollie Cleo. Two of my aunts were Oma Lee and Ora Mae. And of course in the Southern mountain tradition, she was called Ory Mae.

DH's dad was Maynard. One of his uncles was Bluford and the other one was just called Hop. I don't know what his real name was but it had to be bad

Maternal grandmother was Evelyn Mabel she always resented that my mom never named one of her 4 girls after her. We always thanked Mom! BTW one of my cousins had the middle name of Evelyn but that wasn't enough for my grandmother. Since my mom had given one of my brothers the middle name of John after my grandfather she felt one of the girls should have been named after her. Now I think Evelyn isn't too bad, but Mabel...

I have a Valentine too! First & middle name for my paternal grandparents: Valentine Alfonso and Agnes Agatha!
Their sons included Harold and Byron (also John, Leslie, Arthur).

Maternal g'mother was Dorothy Dodson, mom's middle name was Agnes. My father wanted to name me Dorothy Agnes! Mom said "over her dead body" so they named me Lee after my maternal g'father, Leo... but that's the topic of another thread!

Maternal aunts and cousins include Mildred, Gertrude, Louise, Ida, and Muriel.
