Beach towels for excursions???

As I'm finalizing packing for our cruise next week, I'm starting to wonder if I need to bring towels for our excursions on Grand Cayman and Cozumel? One is a DCL excursion, but we booked one on our own. Will I need to bring our own beach towels???

Towels will be provided for the DCL excursion. For the one you booked yourself, you'll need to go up to the pool deck and get some ahead of time. At least that's the way it worked on the Fantasy in December.

DCL does provide towels for excursions. They are the regular bath towel sizes, but you may take as many as you wish. For the DCL excursion, the towel bins may be at the location you meet at. Generally, there are towel bins as you disembark the ship. And, please, be sure to bring them back. We don't want to lose this privilege because people are leaving used towels in the ports.

There are return bins as you get back on the ship, so no reason to have to take them all the way back to your room.

Typically they have big metal racks down near the gangplanks that you can take towels from. But just in case, it would be better to go to the pool deck to grab your own. We made the mistake of forgetting to grab towels before heading to 7-mile beach (Grand Cayman) on our own and it was an interesting beach trip without towels. I think DH and I would have been fine, but DD who was 2 at the time, was pretty traumatized by not having a towel. She kept running across the beach trying to steal towels from other people. Oops!

No need to pack towels. We just got back from the same itinerary. Both ports we went on non DCL excursions. They had a towel rack as you exited the ship and a bin to drop the used towels in when you get back on.
