Best way to get to vancouver from Seattle

Going on the Wonder in July my SW flight lands at 3pm what is the best and most efficant way to go to vancouver? The rest of my party is flying to Vancouver. The train will get there around 11pm and shuttle will get there around 1030 but has numerous stops along the way but will leave from Seatac. Would like to hear reviews from people who have done both.

I haven't taken it but seems to me the best way from Sea Tac to the Vancouver port terminal is to take the Quick Shuttle Bus.

We went the other way last September on our cruise. Our cruise was Seattle - Vancouver, so flew in and out of Seattle. We rented a car in Vancouver and drove to Seattle. I think I paid $120 for the one-way rental. This was a little more than what it would have cost us to do the shuttle for three people (I think - is the shuttle ~$35). I liked the rental because we could do everything on our own timetable. Plus, we had time to kill in Seattle before our flight. I think we used Avis. Best of luck!

In September 2011 - we took Amtrak from Portland OR (spent a few days visiting friends) to Vancouver - PDX 2:50p - VAN 10:50p for $174 for two persons in business class (power outlets & larger seats/tray tables)
We enjoyed the ride, as it was quite scenic; the drawback is how late we arrived in Vancouver.

For the return trip, we booked Quick Shuttle for $108.30 for 2 adults from the Pier to a Sea-Tac airport area hotel - 10:45 departure - 3:55 arrival (we flew home the next day) It was a bit disorganized & the bus was more crowded/less comfy than the train.

Do you remember the specific Hertz location that you dropped off and picked up from? I've been having a heck of a time finding anything except a drop off and pick up at the airport. Thanks!

If you go to cruisecritic boards and read the West Coast Departures board, there is a ton of great info.

You can take Amtrak train, Amtrak bus, rent a car or quickcoach shuttle. All options except rental car are a 4 hr trip. We prefer to rent a car but one-way rental from Budget was $300 from SEA for June 8, 2013 for 48 hrs with coupons. I priced an off-airport location for a little less. With quickcoach, you typically have to exit the bus at the border and go thru customs. The driver will handle your luggage but it has to come off the bus and then be put back on. They don't have their summer schedule yet but price is $55 one way and it makes several stops depending on your final destination.

We chose Amtrak train for $27/pp which has a dining car and no stops at the border. Plus we are looking at it as an "excursion". Sit on the left side if you are traveling north for best views.

Once you get to Vancouver on Amtrak, you will have to decide how to get to your final, bus, etc. The station is very close to the Canada Place - 1.5 miles.

very relaxing and spectacular scenery. And if you can, go for the business class upgrade. So very worth the price which was not a lot.
