Dinner Times with Kids

I know everyone is different, but what time do you usually make dinner reservations with kids (ours will be ages 8 and 10)?

We travel during busier times because of school vacations and we get up early so for us find it works better to eat earlier at 5:00 or 5:30. This also leaves us time to go on more rides in the park or swimming with our oldest DD

Our kids are younger, but we try to make our reservations between 5-6. It then gives us time to enjoy the park at night.

I think it is best to try to make your dinner ADRs as close to when you normally eat at home as possible. That said, it doesn't usually work out for us to do quite that, since we are late dinner eaters, usually 8pm or later during the week, maybe a little earlier on weekends.

But if we ate that late at WDW, we would miss the evening shows at most of the parks. So we end up eating around 7pm usually. I'm a little worried about our 6pm ADR at DHS, we never eat that early. But any later and we'll risk not getting into Fantasmic. Hopefully we'll have a busy enough afternoon that we work up an appetite by then. And I guess we'll probably need a snack again before going to bed.

My DD will be almost 9 by the time we go and DS will be 5. We're pretty much 5/5:30 dinner eaters so we're going to try and make our ADRs for around then. My kids are morning people and can get crabby by evening so that will be a good time for them to sit and have a break.

We make most of ours 5 to 6ish - looking at our list of past ADRs and upcoming ones, we seem to do a lot of 5:15.

We generally have fairly big snacks later in the evening as well, so eating supper in that time range works well for us.
