Haha, you should have! Then I would be in the lead!!! But tied for first is really awesome too - whoo hoo!!! For your AK day, you must be having breakfast at Tusker House and then I'm thinking that maybe you'll head to Downtown Disney for some shopping and dinner at Fulton's Crab House.

And then for this weeks match-ups, here are my picks:

Fulton's Crab House

Tusker House

Kona Cafe

Wolfgang Puck Express
So jealous that you have a Fiesta scouting MiL! Bry's 2nd cousin also does Fiestaware, so she and I typically buy it for each other. She has a ton of older pieces as well.

Thanks for playing along! You're doing awesome!

Me too! I think when we redo our kitchen (eventually) we're going to do several glass fronts to the cabinets so that I can show it all off better!

My picks for that are Tusker House (yummy) and Fulton's (I have always wanted to try it even though only Crap is into seafood, but I know all 3 of you like it).
I totally appreciate you taking the time to get caught up Kimberly! I promise that I'll get back over there soon!

Thanks for joining in the game!

Thank you so much! I don't have an Etsy shop yet, but when I do (I'm planning to do it soon) I'll send you a PM! Thanks for expressing an interest!

Thanks so much for joining in! Don't be a stranger!

For next week's match-ups:
Hollywood Brown Derby
Tusker House

Wolfgang Puck Express

For Day 4 ADRs:
Tusker House
Fulton’s

Day 3—Yay for BBB! The “Princess Decision” is a hard one for sure, but I think she’s up to the task! Cinderella’s dress is SO pretty, but Maddie will be divine no matter who she chooses!

It will be tough to surpass Fairy Godmother extending the invite! I like the Tiana connection, especially since Maddie knows that Tiana is tight with Cinderella because of the royal guest room.
I'm liking the Tiana idea too. Maddie is really excited that she's staying in a room that Tiana designed. FG will be very hard to top though.

Thanks so much for playing!

My ToT picks this round are:

Hollywood Brown Derby, they both have gotten awesome and awful reviews, but I love Cobb salad (minus the bacon lol) and love DHS so I'm going with HBD, I would like to try Fultons sometime though.

Tusker house, I actually have an ADR at H&V and I think we will enjoy it and my DD is going to love it but I really think TH would be a better food choice!

Kona, tonga toast and pressed pot Kona coffee= I do have ADRs at both though lol!

WPE, I have heard great things!

My picks for your day are:
Tusker House
Fultons crab house
Thanks for playing! I can't wait for you to be able to take your DD to the BBB! It's really something special.

I keep going back and forth with the ADRs so I will stray away from the group and say Tusker House and Narcoossee's
Thanks for playing along!

Let me just say we LOVE Boma for breakfast (ate there last week and loved it); we've never done dinner.

We've also eaten at Fulton's numerous times (it was the first restaurant Mark took me to when we went to Disney for the first time together) and we really like it there.
No worries Kathy! You've been a bit busy travelling, and I'm hopelessly behind on your TRs too. I promise to get caught up soon!

The One With the Tournament of Food 8

Hello Friends! Welcome back to the Tournament of Food!

This week your votes eliminated some tough contenders. Let's get right down to it shall we?

In the Signature/Celebrity Chef region Fulton's faced off against the Hollywood Brown Derby, and the winner was....

Hollywood Brown Derby!

In the Character/Dinner Show region Tusker House matched up against Hollywood and Vine.

The winner by a landslide was Tusker House!

Next up, in the Table Service region Kona Cafe battled Yak and Yeti.

Kona Cafe was the clear winner!

And, in the Counter Service region Wolfgang Puck Express was pitted against Cosmic Rays. The vast majority voted for...

Wolfgang Puck Express!

And here's what the bracket looks like now:

We're up to the last match ups in the first round folks! Here are this week's pairings

Signature/Celebrity Chef Region

8. Yachtsman Steakhouse vs. 9. Flying Fish

Character/Dinner Show Region

8. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Princess Storybook Dining vs. 9. 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch

Table Service Region

8. Liberty Tree Tavern vs. 9. 50s Prime Time Cafe

Counter Service Region

8. Pizzafari vs. 9. Pepper Market

As always, vote for the restaurant that you've most enjoyed in the past or the one that you'd be most interested in trying! There are no wrong answers-just fun!

The One with the Changes!

Hey guys! It's been another busy week around here. I did finish one dress for Maddie, but I don't have any pics for you since my model is sleeping. I've also finished altering 2 prom dresses for our family's favorite young woman. She's Bryan's 2nd cousin's daughter (what does that make her to us? You Southern gals probably know) and our families are very close. So, when she asked me to make her a dress for her high school graduation, I couldn't say no. I really don't have much left to do on that dress once I fit it on her one more time so I may have some pictures of that to share next week. She also requested that I make her mini bestie Maddie a coordinating outfit, so I'll definitely share pics of that when it's done. And, since I'm a world class idiot I also volunteered to make that same young woman and her boyfriend t-shirt quilts from all of their sports t-shirts that they've amassed in high school.

So yeah, once those things and Maddie's Alice dress (and maybe a Sophia dress if it looks like she'll be available for greetings at DHS) are done I'm totally getting that Etsy shop up and running I swear that I'm going to do it though, thank you guys so much for all of your support in that. I promise that I'll PM anyone who's interested when it goes live.

In other life news we've been having some crazy weather around here this week. Maddie's school was cancelled today and tomorrow due to flooding! That's a new one for me. Here are some pics I borrowed from the internet of some towns around here. We're safe and dry (only a little water in the basement-the sump pumps just can't keep up!) but there are a lot of roads around here that are closed, and a lot of areas of our town are without power.

And, onto more exciting things--like Disney! Two weeks ago when the summer discounts were announced I called WDW and got our reservation adjusted to reflect the discount (our package is now cheaper than the AoA LM one would have been). Since the summer discounts are out, I decided to do a little research for next years trip.

We are 100% settled on POR-RGR for this trip, but I wanted to get an idea of the price difference in the deluxes vs. the mods with the 30% off summer deal. While I was doing that, Bryan asked me to see how much it would cost to add the Water Parks and More option to the tickets. It's only $50 more!

Once we saw that, we decided to add the WP&M option to this year's tickets as well! I had to cancel one ADR (Coral Reef ) and add another (the Plaza for lunch on Day 1! ). No one will loose any points for having guessed Coral Reef in the Guess My ADR game, but it will be removed from the list of places to guess from.

I'll share more of our water park plans when we get to the appropriate day on the PTR, but we're really excited to try one out for the first time!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Flying Fish

O'hana Best Friends Breakfast

This one depends. For lunch, I would go with Liberty Tree Tavern, since it is quite good. The dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern is terrible, so I would go with 50s Prime Time

Pizzafarri. I have heard the Pepper Market is good, but I would only eat there if I was staying at the hotel. It is low on my list of hotels to stay at.

If you are going to 2 (as seems to be the theme), I am guessing you will go to Akerhaus and 50s.

She is your third cousin-in-law and Maddie's fourth cousin.
You're not an idiot. You're just incredibly sweet.

If you started an Etsy shop, I would totally your customer. I will give you even more business when I finally have a daughter (if it ever happens).

That is a lot of flooding. Once in a while, it floods like that here. Crap got caught in one that left water all the way up to seats. His engine had to be replaced, and it smelled like mildew for weeks. It is great that you got a discount making your room even cheaper than AoA. After I booked my room there, I read that no discounts have been released for them. If a discount does come out for our dates, I will try to talk Crap into upgrading to a Car's Suite.

It is nice that you are checking out the waterparks this trip. Glad you were able to add them for such a good price.

I don't even know what that means...

That is some crazy weather. We were supposed to get a minimum of 2" of rain yesterday and ended up with basically a light shower that came up to .8" It seems like it gets to the IN line and everything south of I-70 just weakens. Kind of reminding me of the little bit of rain that came through last summer, but never got far enough south to hit us...

Were you anywhere near that car swallowing sinkhole I saw on the news yesterday?

My picks:

Yachtsman: Pretty simple. Steak > Fish

Akershus: Just because I have no interest in Lilo and Stitch

Liberty Tree: Tough matchup. I really like both, but LTT gets the edge. I'm a big fan of the meals that are served family style.

Pizzafari: Never been there, and it is in the same park as Flame Tree, so I'm not sure I ever will. If Flame Tree is down for a refurb I'd check it out though. The selection of food at Pepper Market is good, the food itself is ok, but the way it is set up is something that I would only describe with words I can't use here. So... been there, done that, ain't going back.

50s Prime Time Cafe
Pizzafari

Yay for a discount!! That's awesome that it's cheaper than AOA now.

Man, life sure gets busy, no?

Whoa! That's a lot. We live in the Red River valley and get at least some flooding pretty much every year. Our city is protected by a massive dam like structure that I can't type 'cause the DIS will block it out, and we also have a floodway to divert water around the city.

You're just a sewing machine! (HAR HAR HAR)

Water parks and more will be awesome! A nice new experience, for sure.

I'm voting for Yachtsman, Akershus, 50's Prime Time, and Pizzafari.

Prayers for the floods!

Love Yachtsman (ate there for the second time in four months last week).
We've not tried Flying Fish but it is on the list for the future.

Have to go with Princess breakfast (mainly because I don't like Stitch or family style).

Liberty Tree Tavern is the clear winner for us...we had our worse meal of the trip last September at 50's Prime Time.

I don't eat Florida pizza 99% of the time, but it wasn't too bad at Pizzafari. On the other hand, we really like Pepper Market. This one was a toss up for us.

Glad you didn't get a lot of water; we had a little seepage but it is gone now. Mark had to turn around and come home...he couldn't get to work after sitting in Elmhurst in traffic for two hours.

Have a good weekend.

I’m going with;
Yachtsman
Akershus! The food quality was better there in my opinion, and dinner is great!
Liberty Tree Tavern cause I’ve never been there
Pizzafari! Yum!

Wow that flooding is crazy!! I’m glad you guys are staying out of it! Glad that the discounts applied to your trip and made it super cheap! AoA is just ridiculous right now! The suites are the same cost as a deluxe! Like, no thank you! Awesome that you added in a water park day, that should be super fun!!!

Also I’m going back in May for some auditions, and I do have some friends in entertainment currently. I could see what I could do about having a video of Cinderella herself inviting her, or MAYBE (if Lyssa could swing it) get her to send a video of Rapunzel, Aurora, and Cindy all together, don’t know if that would work. I could also get a letter/invitation signed by all the princesses inviting her?

Hi Shannon, I missed the voting last week (we're having a blast here in Disney right now), but my votes wouldn't have changed the winner as I would have voted for the winners anyway. As for the next round...I'm going with yachtsman, ohana, pepper market, and liberty tree tavern. For the ADR game, I'm guessing Tusker House and fultons.
