TIW Questions

We're traveling with my parents on our next trip. My dad has the TIW card and we're planning to use it for all our group meals (8 people.)

Does that mean he has to pay for everything with his credit card?
I booked our lunch at CRT and the meal is currently paid for on my cc. Can we still use TIW even though I paid?

Thanks!

The rules are that the TIW cardholder must pay for the meal. Sometimes a cm will allow another person to pay but i have noticed them being more strict lately. You can also give two forms of payment. I apply the tiw to the whole bill and give my kttw and my parent cc and tell the server how much to put on each card. I asked and was told this was okay to do.

Thanks! He's fine with paying for everything and sorting it out later so if that's the rule, that's no problem.

Anyone know about CRT though? I would like to get the savings on that meal!

When you get to CRT, give them your TiW card and they will refund you the 20%. That's customary for any pre-paid ressies and shows.

Enjoy!

That is how it's done. You pay the full price at booking, then when you get there you give them the TIW card. And they refund the (nearly) 20%. It's not exactly 20% off the total because they don't discount the portion of the bill that they deem covers the photo package, but it's close enough.

Thanks!

I do understand how CRT works with the prepay and refund I just wasn't sure since I paid and it's his TIW. Does the refund go back on my cc? His (even though the initial charge wasn't on his?)

We had no problem getting the TiW discount even though the credit card we used and the TiW card belonged to 2 different people. The server didn't even ask for the original credit card because the info is already in their computer so the credit went back to the original card.

If worst comes to worst the server can credit back the full amount to your card, then charge your Father's card along with the TiW discount, but I doubt this will happen.

In our case the TiW card is in the name of one family member, but a different family member usually pays and we've never had a problem. While it's true the rules state the TiW member has to pay and it's possible some CM will enforce this rule, we haven't had this happen. Mostly they're satisfied as long as the TiW cardholder is at the table.

We've never had a problem with someone else paying the bill. But TIW holder was always there and they always put it all on one check.

One unusual situation was there were 10 of us at Sci Fi so we were seated in two cars. They said since they can't seat us together and they can't combine bills they would split up the bill (actually made 3 checks) but applied discount to all of them.
