Pop Century to Port Canaveral

What company can we use to go from Pop Century to Port Canaveral.

We are 2 adults and we would like to be at Port for 11:00 AM to be early on the ship.....

So we dont want to take DCL transfert because they take us around 12:30 at the hotel.

I look with FL Tours but it's 158.00$ plus 31.60$ for gratuity !!!!!

Any suggestion and experience to share?

Rental Car

Rent a car from one of the companies that has a presence at both WDW and Cape Canaveral. Cheap and allows you to arrive at your preferred time.

There are transportation companies listed in the FAQ stickied thread. Also, when you can arrive at the port depends on the Port Arrival Time you choose when you do your online check in. Your boarding number is directly tied to your Port Arrival Time.

I believe both Alamo and National are on-site at WDW (the Car Care Center) - there is free shuttle service from resort to pick-up a car (or return). Do a one-way car rental to Port Canaveral. I've found the best car deals tend to come out about 2-3 months ahead - so it's ok to reserve earlier but keep watching for discounts to come available. For a 1-day rental you could pick it up whenever you want - I'd do it the day before so as not to have too much hassle the morning you want to drive to the port.

Enjoy your cruise!

We dont want to rent a car... my husband dont want any stress with the road and the insurance that we must take (we're from Quebec, Canada) and he like the fact that he dont have to drive wile in vacation at Disney!

In 2009 and 2010, we did take a private transportation but we were 4 people in 2009 and 5 people in 2010... so the price was divided and that was a nice deal... but for 2 it's not the same!!!!

when is your cruise? maybe someone else is staying at the pop at the same time and would go in on the cost of a town car. we are staying at the pop and are going to the port using dcl but if someone where to be doing the same thing we would do it. have you checked your cruise thread?

The cruise is on November 2..... and for now, it's not 100% that we will be at the Pop... it can change!

can you tell me the price for DCL transportation... is it still 39$ per person?

DCL transport is still $35/person each way.

still, a limo service will make stops at two different resorts so if you could find someone who was staying on property you could still split the fare. that would get you to the port earlier than dcl and I think that's your main issue. the cost will be about the same if you could split it. just a thought.
we are on that cruise but its the second part of a b2b.

On our first Magic cruise, we used Tiffany Limosine. I partnered up with another family on our cruise meet thread and filled one of their 10-person vans for the most economical ride. We stayed at the CBR and they at AK. Had to pay a small extra for 2 pickup points, but the cost per person was great and we had a free stop at a store to pick up beer/wine enroute to the port.

I know you've indicated a desire not to drive, but I just want to point out that assuming you have car insurance at home in Canada, there shouldn't be any reason you HAVE to purchase the rental car insurance. All the rental agencies push their insurance, but if you have adequate coverage at home, it should be good for a rental as well. You'd want to confirm with your insurance agent but ours is good when we drive to Canada, we just have to request a separate card proving our insurance.

You're correct that town car prices generally break-even with DCL transfers around 3-4 people, with DCL transfers less expensive for only 2. $35 each way on DCL bus, or $70 round trip.

Another option, that would be more effort, is to take ME back to the airport in the morning and then take DCL transfers from there. First bus leaves from the airport around 9:30am.

Enjoy your cruise!

Re: Canadian Car Insurance. We pay an nominal additional fee (less than $20) that covers some extras (like renting a car outside of BC). We have a little card that proves we have coverage, but have never had to show it to the rental companies.

Driving from WDW to the Port is pretty straight forward.

Can this be done - do they not like you to do this?

I'm looking for options for basically the same reasons as the OP for our upcoming August cruise.
