Yacht Club Room Views - The DIS Discussion Forums

What will the view from my room at the Yacht Club be?

Effective with reservations on January 1, 2011, the view categories at the Beach and Yacht Clubs were reclassified into 3 booking categories:

Standard view- parking lot or rooftops
Garden view- something green- trees or courtyard
Lagoon or Water view- lake or pool

The purpose of this thread is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht Club.

Please note that we generally do not recommend that you request a particular room number for your stay at the resort, but instead let the room assigner know what is most important to you:

Close to Elevator?
Close to Lobby/Pool/Transportation?
Daybed?

If you request a particular room number, and that room is not available on the day you are checking in, the room assigner may not know the attributes of the room you want, so you may not get the room that best suits your needs.

Garden View- Garden View rooms at the Yacht Club may have a view of the Wedding Gazebo or the back entrance courtyard (lake side). There are also some GV rooms near the tennis courts/quiet pool.

Room 4163. Corner Room. We had booked a standard view but pretty sure we were upgraded to a water/gazebo view. It had a couch but not sure if it made into a day bed. Best room we EVER had at WDW.

We booked a GV CL room and got pixie dusted with a LV room!
Our only request was a daybed.

We are at the YC now for the week and are thrilled at the view!!!!!! Beautiful and being on the4th floor Illuminations on the balcony is GREAT!!!!!!

Raining now but who cares

Made my airline reservations so I have my real dates now. Could you please update my dates to 8/20 to 8/30 at the BC? Flying Frontier Air out of Mercer Airport for the first time. Very excited; much closer than Philly or Newark.

From our December '09/January '10 trip. We were in room 4175, water view. At that time it had the two queens and the sofa bed. It was close to the elevator, about three or four rooms down from there. Loved this room!
