Staying on board after early final breakfast? Or ejected?

Okay, so it's true that I really won't want to disembark on the last morning but...
Since we are 1st dining rotation during cruise, I know from previous cruises that we will have the 1st breakfast rotation (early!!) on the final day. After breakfast, can we go to a lounge or somewhere on the ship to wait while the 2nd breakfast rotation is going on? Maybe a lounge to play board games or a place to watch Disney movies before leaving? My ride isn't coming until 10am to pick us up. I was thinking it would be nice to disembark at 9:30 instead of 7:30!!! ...you know, hang out on the ship instead of ejected onto the cold cement pavement of the terminal. Suggestions?

There really isn't anything going on or available that morning except breakfast and leaving the ship. You certainly can sit somewhere until the bitter end, but no movies, games or anything else is available. By 9:00 they are pretty much escorting you toward the door. They only have a certain amount of time to clean and reset the ship for the next cruisers, so they're really hopeing everyone wants to be off the ship asap.

Remember that just because you are scheduled for the early bfast that last morning, it doesn't mean you have to go. Three DCL cruises and every last morning we have done BBB/Cabana's buffet a little after 8 (it shut down at 8:30), sat out on deck and slowly made our way down as close to 9 as possible. Much better than getting up at a stupidly early time for bfast.

When we were in Miami, were would have loved to have gotten off at 9! At 9 they hadn't even called the last group yet, and when they did we had to stand in line another 15-20 minutes and then get luggage, do customs, etc. We exited the terminal about 10.

Easy to linger until last. You'll probably be in the lobby by 9:15 though.

As someone suggested, eat at the buffet or ask you head waiter to eat in the second group.

We did this too! It was more relaxing. We waited until there was no line and then we just walked off the ship around 9am.

Disneys lack of a disembarkation system is popular with many, I don't care for it. They will do everything they can to get everyone off by 9 am.
HAL has all the public rooms open, with coffee, juice and pastries set up. You wait in comfort until your group is called. Priority is given to those who have early flights/transportation needs.

NCL America lets you stay in your cabin until 10 am, which is when they want everyone off the ship. They use a early transportation priority system too. Somehow they manage to get the ship turned around just fine for the next guests.

Our Disney cruise disembarkation started just before 8, we lined up at 830 after late breakfast and waited 45 minutes in line. We ran into folks who were in the last bunch off, took until 10 am to get everyone off. Line kept moving, just very slowly.

I like to get up early for seated dining as that will be last time to see server staff and they made an impression on me do much that I wanted to get up early and enjoy them one last time

On our first cruise we arranged for my parents to pick us up at 10am. It was only a 3 day so we wanted to spend extra time on the ship and didn't realize that the ship had to be cleared at 9. We had early breakfast and then stuck around and booked our next trip (we were on the dream so we borrowed a lap top). It really wasn't that fun. The CMs were rushing around to get ready for the next sailing and we felt like party guests overstaying their welcome. It's true what PPs have said in that there are no activities and you can't go back to your room. So there is nothing to do but sit in a public area. Since then we have either left immediately after our card was called or express check out.

Are you limited to the lobby?i want to be out of our room so they can clean it, but I have no desire to stand in a mob of people. We like to let crowds go and then head out after.

Also, what time do they like you out of the rooms? We are in a royal so want to give the time to do what they have to do for the next guests. But the family are NOT morning people. I'm the only early riser. What's a time for me to tell them they have to be out by so we aren't being rude?

on a few cruises we left while second seating was at breakfast since we had first seating, and it wasn't to crowded during that time. You are not limited to the lobby. There isn't anything to do anywhere on the ship, but I know during that time waiting for crowd to die down a little so not as long of a line getting off or mob of people. I took that time to go around the ship taking last minute pictures/videos

Can someone share what time is the early seating on disembark day? We have early dinner so assuming we are assigned to early breakfast that day? If its super early we will do buffet but I prefer sit down

We had early dining and our disembarkation breakfast was scheduled for 6:45am! No way we were making it to that. We were up and off the boat by 7:45.

Opted for no breakfast, so we could get our bags and get to our car quickly to hit the road for the 2hr drive back home.

Wasn't that back in 2003 or so? I'm sure your cruise had a bad experience with this but many things have changed with the DCL's terminal and proceedures since then and this has never been the usual experience when cruising out of PC with DCL. The ship is usually cleared during the early breakfast seating for closed-loop cruises unless there has been a delay getting back to the port or something unusual happening at the port.

We had a long wait in line to get off, and an even longer wait to get through immigration. It was a bit of a downer after such a great cruise. The silver lining was we were heading back to Disney for 11 nights! Will certainly be looking for tips to miss the lines next time. Felt really sorry for the porters who weren’t making any money as the lines took so long to move.
