Breakfast time for Tusker House

I wanted to get someone's opinion on what time we should do breakfast. The day we are going the park opens at 9. I could do either 8:30 or 9:30. I am leaning towards 9:30 because we could quick get a fastpass before going to eat.

Any opinions on the better time to choose?

Also, if I were to do chef Mickey how easy is it to get there from Epcot or is it easier from MK?
Thanks!

The best time to do Tusker House is 8:00 so you can be done in time for rope drop. If that's not available at all then of your 2 choices I would say 9:30 so you can get in, grab a FP and even ride something before your ADR time.

Chef Mickey is much easier to get to from Magic Kingdom....you can take the monorail to the Contemporary or even walk.

I did Tusker House on my last trip about two weeks ago.
My res was at 8:30.....My plan was to eat then stay all day at AK.....I wanted to see the parade at 4:00 (I had never seen it)
I would do it a little different if I had to do it again.......later breakfast (9:30 or 9:45)
I had done pretty much everything twice and was a little bored by 2:00; walked around and rode a little more.

We always go on a day when it's EMH@ 8:00am and schedule breakfast between 10-10:30am. That way we can hit the more popular rides before breakfast. We usually grab a safari fastpass right before breakfast.

That is what we have done. Has worked great.

We plan in-park breakfasts as early as possible with the aim of being done before or just after rope drop so we don't spend an hour of prime morning park time in a restaurant.

I always try to book all pre-park character breakfasts at 8:15.

Then I try to show up at the restaurant before 8 (I book 8:15 instead of 8 to give us a bit of leeway since we try to rely on Disney transportation).

Assuming we arrive before 8, we are almost always seated with the first group or soon thereafter (and never as late as 8:15).

At Tusker, we also ask to skip the photo with Donald (we get pictures with him at Cape May). By doing this, we're almost always one of the first parties seated and are almost always done with breakfast by 9.

We typically try to avoid parks on their morning EMH days (once, however, we broke this rule and did AK on a morning EMH day. In that instance, we split up - one of us got safari FPs while the other checked us in to Tusker - once breakfast was over, we hopped onto the safari with our FPs).

Thank you everyone! I do try to stay out of parks on extra magic days. I will book the later one or see if an 8 opens up.
Thank you!!

I had asked the same question elsewhere and was advised to schedule a later breakfast so we'd be able to get a few rides in first. We have it scheduled for 10:10, so we'll see how it works out. Makes sense to me.

This is what I would like to do on our next trip. Our primary AK "must do" for this trip is to see the parade there this time around; and I know that if we start our day at AK too early we won't stick around long enough to catch the parade (which is what happened on our last trip). So I am planning for us to have a later Tusker House breakfast (~10am), have light snacks throughout the day so we can avoid the counterservice lunch lines, and hopefully not leave the park until around 5:30pm to return back to the resort for dinner. We are really hoping this plan works

I personally like doing Tusker either as a pre park opening breakfast, or: around 10:30, its enough time to get into Ak, ride everest a few times, dino & safari before breakfast!

OT I am someone who goes to AK 3 times in a 10 day trip. We find so much to do and see! It does take slowing down some. But it is so worth it! We love AK. Alright if this is your first trip to WDW. You probably don't want to take the time to'stop and smell the roses' so to speak. But if you go a couple times year. Like we do. AK is awesome!
