1st time cruisers going to Alaska, need gift ideas for DH

We're going to celebrate our 10th anniversary, it's our 1st trip anywhere without our kids, and we've worked really hard to make this trip the best ever. I want to get DH something great for the trip - something travel related. Any suggestions?

For example, we saw mountain goats from the White Pass RR in Skagway. By eye they were little white dots. Could see them pretty well with the binos. With the zoom we could take a picture that you could tell were goats. A lot of the wildlife will be at some distance; they are wild and keep their distance. If you are lucky enough to see whales, you'll probably need a zoom.

Not sure if this is appropriate for your Husband, but we are considering getting my father a Kindle Fire device because he likes to read books on the cruises (likes to park himself on a Deck 4 Lounge chair). We thought he could download a couple of books instead of having to pack them!

On that note, anyone who has been on the Alaska cruise... will it be too cold to sit on Deck 4 and read a book? I like to do this as well but I like to have a hot Chai latte in hand! Do they have blankets?

Been on a cruise, not Disney, to alaska in May. Each port area was different. We had wool blankets that were set out for us. Juneau was in 80's, skagway windy & ketchican rainy but fine temp wise. Jeans and shirt was all we needed and maybe light jacket.

We saw whales from the window at Triton's. It was amazing. Even the servers stopped what they were doing and went over to see.

When you're approaching the glacier at Tracy's Arm and the wind is blowing right at you, then yes, you would need a jacket or a wind breaker over a sweater. My aunt called it "colder than a mother-in-law's kiss." (You'd have to consider the source. My DMIL was a great lady.)

Anyway, we go to Alaska to cool off. The Caribbean is too hot/humid for moi. To each their own.

A really good camera with a great zoom and a high quality, waterproof binoculars. Research both as they aren't cheap.
