We'll be in Universal for two days in December, and I was wondering about Universal Photo Connect. How does it work? How much does it cost? How much would pictures cost without it? If you've used it, do you think it was a good value?

I got to experience the system for free and I enjoyed it. You get the photoconnect card and you're able to scan your card at the different ride counters or anywhere that has a photo spot. It puts your photos online, much like Disney's Photopass. You have the option to download your photos so you can share them on Facebook and stuff like that, and you can also purchase your picture.

Sorry, I can't comment on the prices as I don't know the details. Maybe try calling Universal for information?

We signed up last trip. It was really good for the price. We are AP members and paid $39.99 for the whole year. It's has some quarks to it but they will get it right soon, nothing too major.

We're only planning one day at IOA - wondering about this. I really like ride photos and posed shots (always buy photo pass at WDW). How many rides are available at IOA? Where can I find out more information?

We bought it today, it was $39.99

I've just got back o the hotel and looked at the photos and I'm not especially impressed. The one of my family with the Universal globe is great, and one of my kids with spiderman is cute but the others are poor, the photos with Cat in the Hat & the Grinch arent even on there which is really annoying because we were the only people there and they spent lots of time playing games with my boys. I only got a couple of shots with my camera because the photographer was snapping away....lesson learnt!!

We thought it was a great value, love the ride pictures of course and with ride pics being around $20 a piece it was awesome to get as many as we wanted for $40!! Got some good posed pictures at the front of the park and at the bridge by Hogwarts . We ended up with around 50 pictures from our 5 days there. Oh good posed pics in Jurassic park as well!

When you get to the park just go in and ask where do you sign up for photo connect. In US it just inside the gates on the right. In IOA its just past the gates in the first shop on the right. If you have a photo taken before you get there they will hand you a card. You can add all your photos to that card or if you forgot you can get another card. After you pay and set up an account online you can add as many photo connect cards as you like.

We ended up adding a card from about 1 year ago we found in a drawer at home. Guess what, the photo showed up.

My family bought Photo Connect and LOVED it! Having all of the ride photos and character photos was great. However, I would not recommend it if you are only visiting for one day. My family went for 4 days and we only got about 35 pictures from all of the rides and photo-spots. Waiting in line to put the photos on the card can take time. In one day you may not have that time.
