Thinking about going in may 2014

Hi all
We usually always go in september to October as we love Halloween! We start the trip around middle of September and stay 3wks so we go into October,
We think the weather is great not too hot for us that we can't cope but still plenty warm enough for swimming and water park days

Anyway our oldest son birthday always falls in the middle of our trip, plus our wedding anniversary is also in September,
The problem is we have 7yr old twins who birthday is in may! Even though they understand why we go the time of yr we do, they would really like to go for their birthday instead.

So my questions are typically what is
1.the weather like?
2.crowds " we are military and so schools normally have no problem with us taking the kids out of school for family time "
3. Does anything happen at this time of yr? Like October had food & wine! ....

Prices is it a lot more expensive to stay on site at this time of yr?

Thanks

Weather will be hot.

Crowds can be good at the begining before memorial weekend.
Events the flower and garden is usually ending at the begining of May and star wars weekends at HS will be starting shortly after.

We go every May and October. Our two favorite tjmes of year! May might be a tad warmer with more humidity but its not that different from late Sept/early Oct.
Epcot has its flower and garden festival and HS has Star Wars weekends. Crowds before Memorial Day weekend are about the same as Oct.

Thankyou, that sounds great, is early may or late may better for weather crowds?
Also does it rain a lot?

Early May is better. If you go for SWW HS will be packed. I am going for the first time this May but have been preparing for what is to come. Not sure where it is but there is a thread on SWW.

May is not as rainy as june. Usually a pretty dry month.

Early May is better if you can do it. The weather is warm but summer hasn't kicked in yet. Kids are still in school. You may get some day trip class trip kids but the crowds are lower earlier in the month. The closer to Memorial Day weekend the more people. It isn't their usual rainy period so you might get a passing shower but its not usually a rainy time. Like I said, we go every May and Oct usually of those trips ; We have gone May 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012 and will be 2013 and other than a random shower it's been pretty rain free.

Early May is better for both crowds and weather. The later you get into the month, the more the crowds start to build from our experience. It didn't rain much on our trips until 2012, when we were there over Memorial Day weekend and got caught in a TS. Boy that was a lot of rain. Still fun to be at Disney though.

I hope you have a great trip and an early HB to the kiddos.
