Which would you choose and why? We had said we were going the Jan. 31-Feb. 9th. However, we may be able to move our trip up. Our dates are flexible.

October is our favorite time to go. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Food and Wine Festival, and the weather are a few reasons we prefer it to other times of year.

Would say also that Oct. is a great time of year. Been going down for past 5years for Halloween/Food Wine parties. Weather can be warm during day and sometimes cool evenings. Crowds not bad except for weekends at Epcot. Jan/Feb just dont have enough going on. Also in Jan/Feb it can be a lot cooler.

Hi
The sooner the better!! You can still swim in Oct and might not be able to in Jan/Feb. The weather is beautiful in Oct. Not too hot, and a little cooler at night.

Just did January for the first time. Will remain my least favorite vote. October is wonderful and will return to WDW again in October this year. Weather is still warm enough for a day at the pool; halloween decorations are awesome and there's food and wine feast. May even see some special dining offers over the next few months. MNSSHP is something not to be missed whatever u decide it will still be magical!

Another vote for October. Our last 3 trips have been in October. I know weather can change, but for all 3 we had 80's and low humidity. Also very little rain.
Plus you have food and wine plus MNSSHP.

We just returned from a January trip a few weeks ago and I think it will remain my first and last January trip lol. Very crowded or maybe my expectations of less crowded were too high. Anyway, I think we will stick with Fall trips from now on!

Another vote for October. January is a big refurb month and many attractions are closed for varying dates during the month

We went for 6 days in Jan 2012 and 10 days in OCT 2012. We also just did a day at all 4 parks as part of the 8 night Magic Cruise out of Galveston. That was on Jan 22, 2013. There are lots of Brazilian tour groups in January and the weeks we went were also the week of MLK holiday. So pretty crowded. I would go in October. The food and wine festival at Epcot is fantastic and the Not So Scary Halloween party was fun. Also, the weather was much warmer so we went to Typhoon Lagoon twice and swam at the Art of Animation resort when it got too warm at the parks. When we were there on Jan 22, the high was 65 and it felt much colder. I had on a long sleeved shirt and thick jacket and was still cold. They kept Magic Kingdom open late because it was so crowded. My absolute favorite time to go is November though because the weather is beautiful, food and wine festival is still going on, they have the Very Merry Christmas party and the Osborne family spectacle of lights, and it's much less crowded. We are going again this November.. Can't wait!

October has great weather and good park hours. January can have nice weather, but it can also have really cold weather. January has limited park hours. And it is also the time when they close rides for refurbishment.
We have gone in January many times because the resorts are at their lowest room rates of the year, and the crowds traditionally have been light. But what I am hearing this year is that January is much more crowded than usual.

We have been there during both months over the years and I have to honestly say the past few times we have been in January the weather hasn't been the best. During the early 2000's we went every year in January usually from either NYE or NYD until the 7th or 8th (due to college schedules beginning around the 10th) and the weather was beautiful. However, that began changing in 2009.....and sad to say we haven't had great weather the 3 times we've been since 2009. We do love October also, however, as someone else pointed out Epcot is usually very busy due to F & W going on......we've found by timing our trip from Sunday thru Friday morning we can avoid the worst of the crowds since we don't usually arrive until mid afternoon on Sunday.

I've done 11 January vacations and 4 October. Once I discovered October there was no going back.

We've been going for the last seven year in January at around the same time. This year it was from Jan. l7 - 22nd. We have always had beautiful weather but this year was the coolest although a couple of the days it was nice and we even got a pool day in
However, I thought the crowds this year were heavy. Over the years it has become more and more crowded in January. On Saturday, Jan. 20th we ate at Animal Kingdom Lodge then headed over to Animal Kingdom Park. The lines were insane. Actually there wasn't a line it was just a mob of people. We immediately turned and left. |
