Question Best Tours on a Budget?

I'd like to surprise my DBF with a surprise tour when we go this June. We are traveling without kids, and are staying at AKL CL on our DVC points. I'm a full-time student, so it will take some scrimping and saving for me to make this happen, so I really can't afford some of the more expensive tours. BUT he would be really surprised if I was able to save enough for us to do a tour. Anyone done a tour they just LOVED that wasn't too pricey? I'm thinking $50 each is a good price-point.

Have you done any of these? Marceline to MK seems kinda neat, but I wonder if it will appeal to him too?

I've never done a tour.

We've done Behind the Seeds. I thought it was very fun and would recommend it to anyone who loves Livin' with the Land. It is more about alternative gardening and crop production than Disney but it is fun and you get to try some fruit and vegetables grown in the greenhouse!

Or maybe since you are staying AK CL, you might want to try to save enough for the Sunrise Breakfast Safari - $65 but limited to AK CL guests and includes breakfast.

I have done both. The MK tour is about how Walt envisioned Main St then it goes into Walt's early work and technology. If you are interested in the history of Disney I think you would enjoy it bit I could see where someone could be bored if they had no interest in that side of Disney.

The Behind the Seeds tour is pretty cool. Definitely worth the $18. They basically walk you through the Living with the Land greenhouse and tell you about most things. We enjoyed this one.

I usually travel with my mom and we signed up for the Family Magic tour... I consider myself a big kid and this was definately a child's tour. We actually ended up not doing this one because it is basically a scavenger hunt around MK.

Enjoy whatever you decide. I hope this helped you some. Have a great trip.

I want to do this but I mentioned it to him in passing and he balked at the idea of us spending this much so I'm not sure.

I'm doing the Marceline Magic Tour. It seems like a good option and the price is decent.

I would do this! Save the extra money. You take the normal safari trucks but the tour takes an hour or so instead of the 10-15 minutes. You get an in depth tour with an expert talking about all the animals.

Another glowing recommendation for Behind the Seeds from me! I loved it- and it's a great tour at an amazing price point!
