Help with character autographs
we are going on our first cruise in april and i just read that we can drop off pillow cases at the front desk and they will bring it back with character autographs by the end of the cruise. i think this is a really neat idea especially since ds is only 3 and super shy. so i could imagine that we will have trouble collecting autographs. does anybody know if we can drop off other items instead of a pillow case? i dont think we would ever display or use it in any way and i thought of maybe just dropping of a nice piece of cardboard and framing it.

My wife and I dropped off pillow cases and had them signed, but friends of ours had photo mats for signing. You could probably drop off just about anything you would like signed, hats, t-shirts, etc. As for the pillow cases, we had the princesses sign one, and the rest of the characters sign the other. Now my kids will only sleep with that pillow case or the ones that they got at the Pluto pyjama party in the kid's club. Have fun.

We've done photo mats! Just make sure you mark which direction you want them signed. The first time we did this the characters signed vertically and I wanted it horizontally. DH cheered me up by saying "Well I guess we just have to cruise again until they get it right!"
![]() We have done the pillow cases but prefer the photo mats. But my all time favorite was a 9" white vinylmation. I put in the big pack of Bic markers with a fine point. It came out great!! It sits on the corner of DD's desk right by her bedroom door. I see it every night and it brings back good memories! Just as an FYI, drop off the set of waterproof markers otherwise you will probably get all dark colors. People will warn you that you won't get your markers back but I have every single time. Tell the CM at GS which characters you want. We just request as many as possible. The item will be on your bed on the last night of your cruise!! Enjoy!!

Besides pillowcases, the other common item are frame mats. Make sure you mark the orientation. You can also ask the type of characters you want - Fab 4, Princesses, as many as they'll fit, etc, or to only use a white or silver marker for a black frame for example. Put everything on a big zip lock bag and write on it your name and stateroom number. Best has been to get a set of Sharpie medium point in different colors.

We brought blank canvases & photo mattes for the characters to sign. We included sharpies (which were returned) and a bag of candy for the CMs.
The canvases were the kids' favorite. |
