That's the kind of day where you can't open your mouth without a song jumping right out of it!

My mom comes and visits a couple of times a year. We have sooo much fun, we often spend lots of time shopping and our sarcastic banter never stops. It's very funny to see the clerks reactions - some of them think it's hilarious and catch on very quickly, but there's always a few who look at us in shock. We love it!

Wow, I guess my dad is lucky you never heard some of the jokey things he says to my mom when they are out shopping.

If they are buying cleaning supplies, he tells her to "go pick out whatever she likes, because cleaning is woman's work and he wants her to be happy."

Sometime he just goofs on her and loudly says she should "be grateful he even came to get her out of the home," as in home for the mentally ill or infirm.

And he says plenty of things that are far more scandalous, but they are ALL JOKES and if some buttinski pipes up and comments to him about it, he usually tells them to mind their own business.

The only thing that a stranger could say that would offend me is if he was commenting to his wife/kids/companion about me personally ("sheesh, look at the _____ on that one" or "thank God I'm not her DH") and then I'd probably go over to them and quietly use a few choice words and walk away.

My sister has a Darth Vader theme as my ringtone. She tells me she cracks up every time I call.
DD has the Halloween music as my ring tone. She, along with the rest of us, all have the witch mucis from The wizard of Oz as a ring tone for my mom.

I was having lunch with a guy and his phone started with the "Imperial March". It was his wife.

I thought it was hilarious and set that as my ringtone for work.

Over the years DH has had the Psycho theme and Guns N' Roses Used to Love Her as my ringtone.

We're both very sarcastic

Well, of course we do! Humans are judgmental by nature - we judge every single thing that we hear or see. The thing is, most of us don't feel a great need to brag about it on the internet.

I'm confused by one part of this -- how does the attractiveness of the spouse play into the situation?

I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been offended by something that one stranger has said to another stranger.
