RCI's DreamWorks Experience

I've sailed on DCL, RCI, Celebrity, Princess, HAL and NCL.

For a great kids experience, I recommend a RCI ship with the DreamWorks Experience. Link. Watch the video.

It's on the Allure, Oasis, Freedom, Liberty, Voyager, and will be added to the Mariner in May 2013.

I have heard that on RCI and some other ships there are a lot of things you have to pay for on the ship on top of the cruise price. Is this true?

I don't! If you want soda, you'll pay for it on other cruise lines. However, you'll also pay for it on DCL if you order it from room service or at a bar.

**There are a lot of extra things you could pay for on any cruise line - including Disney. There is nothing more you have to pay for, other than gratuities, on any cruise line.

One of the things that I remember being extra on out last RCCL cruise was a place with great looking desserts! I forget what the place was called, but the treats looked amazing, but there was a charge for them and I wouldn't pay

I've done one Princess cruise, the week of Spring Break, and it was me with all of the Senior Citizens. There were MAYBE 25 kids on the whole ship, and I don't really remember seeing a kids area.

Good thing I was traveling with a senior citizen (my mother) or I would have felt completely out of place.
My other issue with Princess was that they have a casino, which allows smoking, and I felt like I had to pass through the casino way too often...ick.

Just about every cruise ship has a casino - except for DCL. I also dislike smelling smoke when I walk through the casino. I love that there is no smoking in Celebrity's casinos, or on verandas.

We like to cruise with people who are in the same stage of life also

We took a cruise on NCL and the guests were so old, they made 50 look like teenagers.
