DL Dining Reservations....how many days out? - The DIS Discussion Forums

How far in advance can I make dining reservations for DL? We check in on April 27...I am soooo ready to make these ressies. I heard something about 60 days, but I just need confirmation about the time frame. I'm soooooooo used to making them 180 days in advance in WDW. Thanks!

You can make priority seating reservations 60 days out at Disneyland.

The demand isn't that high and the choices are more limited so no need for 6 months.

Many people tend to wait until the calendar is set- just 4-5 weeks out, others wait till they get to the parks and decide then...

You actually will only be able to make reservations 59 days in advance for some of your vacation days.

On 2/27, you'll be able to make 4/27 reservations (59 days)
On 2/28, you'll be able to make 4/28 reservations (59 days)
On 3/1, you'll be able to make 4/29 (59 days), 4/30 (60 days), and 5/1 (61 days) reservations.
And then 61 days from there on out.

I have a question regarding this (sorry OP)....are there restaurants that we should make right at the 60 day mark? Are there restaurants that are really hard to get into? The ones I am most concerned about is Carthay Circle Restaurant, Napa Rose, and Blue Bayou (still deciding if we are doing lunch or dinner there). I am also on the fence about going to Minnie and Friend's breakfast before the park opens (we are definitely eating here, just not sure what time for breakfast), is that a really popular time to go? Thank you for any help

If you are a very large group, or want a specific restaurant for a specific time and are not flexible- then make your reservations. For example- we are going to eat at BB on Sunday when we are there- we leave in 1 month 1 day- I haven't made them yet because we were figuring out the day- but I am okay with anytime between 11:30 and 3- so I could even wait until the night before or day of and still be fine. Many, many people don't make them at all just because they have never done it before at DL...

And if you can't get the exact time you want, call back once a week, and you might get lucky. People cancel.

OMG! That's hilarious! I thought that whenever I could book reservations, I could book for my whole visit, as long as the first day of my visit was 60 days out. LOL so I should probably wait until 60 days from the last day that I am booking reservations, to book all of them. LMAO

Any restaurants that we should definitely hit while we are there? We are planning for almost all of the character dining, and probably the BBQ place...anywhere in particular (BTW we don't eat any seafood....never)! Lol

I thought you could make reservations 60 days out from the first day of your visit until the last day of your stay once that first 60 day mark hits. This is of course only if your staying on site, if not then the way you have it is correct. I know it works that way at WDW is it not the same at DL?

That's a WDW thing. The 180 + 10 it's called.
