HS ride question

It's been almost 10 years since I've been to HS and ridden the backlot tour ride and the great movie ride. Which is the one that has someone (cowboy?) jump onto one if the ride cars for a little while? I always hated that part and I think it would scare my DD (4) so I want to avoid it if I can. Or am I remembering wrong?

On the Great Movie Ride, someone in character jumps onto the car... I'm thinking it's a gangster, but I'm not sure. That ride completely freaked my children out. They aren't afraid of much (loved Dinosaur, ToT) but they say they will never ride it again. I have heard others say their kids enjoyed it.

Not sure about Backlot, since it has been closed on our last two trips.

The great movie ride is the one where the gangster hijacks your car.

A gangster jumps on the car (and kicks out the regular driver) in the Great Movie Ride and there is a brief shoot-out.

I don't have little ones but I could see where the gunshots might be scary. The gangster himself isn't very scary, particularly if you are in the back rows.

The character that jumps into the car and takes it over can be either a gangster or a cowboy, depending on which car you're in. Either way, they have a toy gun.

There are two scenes, either a gangster or a cowboy. Both of them take over the car at gun point. People have posted that during slow times they may only show the gangster.

I have only ever seen the gangster. My 4 year old loves this ride! She made us ride it three times in a row last trip.

If it is running, you can ask for the cowboy scene and the CMs will usually accommodate.
