Monsters Inc dark ride?!
http://www.screamscape.com/html/shanghai_disneyland.htm
I hope that if it happens, it's for DHS' Pixar Place. While it isn't a coaster, it would be able to dramatically reduce TSMM's wait time, since the entire family can do this ride... *please* |

screamscape...while dedicated...is right up there with jim hill for the title of "Most Accurate Predictor"
![]() its not really meant for disney...places like cedar point, the larger six flags and busch gardens have followed a steady pattern of adding one "big" thing each season (or every couple of years) to keep up with the joneses...usually a coaster. its expected and it leaks out on a predictable time table. Disney, who first started that trend in the 50's and 60's at DL and 70's 80's at WDW...has pretty much abandoned their own trend. they have not kept the same commitment to reinvent that the parks were built with...and we pay. we pay for the same stuff year after year that has long since been paid for. their openings since animal kingdom (maybe because of animal kingdom...who knows?) have been less than impressive. occasional clones and "major attractions" every 5 years or so if you're lucky. and in the case of everest...one that doesn't actually work. in fact...if you look at it objectively: rock n roller coaster in 99 (test track was 4 years overdue...don't get credit for that) mission space in 2004 (largely a bust...lets face it) everest in 2005 (see above)...motor show clone at studios soarin clone in 2006...crush and gusher over at typhoon (nice but small and overdue) toy story mania in 2008...but that is a "C" ticket that really opened as "men in black, alien attack" at universal in 2001...i might be harsh - but not really that far off. fantasyland in 2012...repurposed dumbo, new retail and food, "c" ticket clone in the little mermaid. snow white - nice twist on what is essentially a junior steel coaster in 2014. Nothing else confirmed or close to being announced...avatar concept undefined and in complete soup as of now...with "opening date" fast approaching. that's your 15 year construction history folks...the "new" stuff. not the repurposed or revamped like finding memo, turtle talk, laugh floor, and on and on... i did forget kim possible though ![]() It makes the tracking for places like screamscape hard... they think its logical that disney - with their near unlimited finances and huge market share - would build as all the other little fish in the pond do... but they haven't. you can't trust their rumors - sadly.

Cool rant, but what does any of that have to do with the leaked blueprints? I guess people treating this forum like their own personal soapbox just comes with the territory these days. I'd recommend simply choosing a different travel destination if you've become so bitter and disgruntled.
As for the op, this looks like a great addition to dhs and could fit perfectly into the space next to tsm. I really hope it gets the green light! |

Their investment has not kept up with their pricing, and that has caused the overall quality to fall. If you want to call that bitter...fine. But there are measurables to support it. Your call, my call. The other point is one of my staples: trust nothing but vertical construction Screamscape....bless their heart...do a lot of stuff like this: Jan 20xx - sources confirm that the Death Star, 5 dimensional coaster for the former site of Sounds Dangerous is a go for 20xx One year later - it appears that the project is on hold due to reason y Two years later 1 - project shelved according to sources See? If I put that on a website...you'll eat it with a spoon. But it's mostly here-say or worse delusional stories conjured in somebody's head. The only thing you have to look at is why or why not Disney would be compelled to spend the money...and there's not a great reason to reinvest at MGM...if you're fair.

I appreciate that you're still trying to hijack the thread, but this is an actual patent.

Disney has filed for thousands...if not tens of thousands of patents... I know, Mickey...you're a "real" fan...or CM. Either way...we are probably gonna be on opposite sides of the table.

If negative is defined as "expecting return on the continual investment as a consumer from the supplier"
Then yes...guilty as charged. I will and always demand more from Disney parks... They sell it that way...they want it that way. And so I shall ask for it that way. Enjoy the magic...it's about planning, science, construction and capital for me

I'm all for anything new, but... what part of these drawings has anything to do with monsters inc? Cars moving through a town on the streets? Am I missing something?

Based on recent history, if Disney decides to put a monsters inc. Attraction in wdw, it will be a copy of monsters(superstar limo) from DCA. I'll believe Florida is getting a good version when they or DL gets the real Winnie the Pooh ride from Tokyo.

Of course God forbid we share these opinions because they don't align with those who think every single thing Disney does is right and just. Disney patents tons of things, and while a MI dark ride would be a nice addition, it's really not a wise choice imho. Putting a dark ride in Pixar Place would dull it. So many other things could be done...

That's it right there. So I wouldn't mind continuing the discussion...but I'm going to need something from my counterpoint(s) that I never get: An argument as to why the above statement is not the case... Not patronizing and frankly uninformed quips that don't actually consider what you and I support with our dollars. I may be rough, but not uninformed...thanks, Mom
