The depth of the water at Pelican plunge depends on the tides. Thus, it varies with season of the year and time of day. But as noted, it isn't a little kid place. This one is for big kids and adults.

Life jackets are available for kids to wear and my almost 5 year old went down with no problem. I went first and stayed off to the side and then he came down and we swam back to shore together.

Thanks! Definitely sounds like we'd want to be nearby. It's good to know that there are life jackets.

i did it with my 9YO daughter- it was a blast....

a girl of similar age she made friends with and her brother had been doing it all day by themselves....plenty of Disney Cruise supervision all around...

I am surprised ppl would think its not for smaller kids- if an adult is there and they have life jacket I wonder why?? (unless you have fearful kids?)
Both my 7 and 4.5 year old swim(little guy as better then older actually.)Both would be with an adult and in life jacket. I plan to take them definitely. They go to water parks here or other trips, went on great wolf lodge slides with supervision at 2 and started at 3 and 4 yo on the BIG slides and other big, long dark tunnel style(and they go outside, at night its BLACK) yds was not quite 5.

They are, in my opinion, kiddie slides that end in deep water.

I agree with this assessment. The "gentler" of the two slides reminds me of the slides you find at Disney resorts.
