Pelican Plunge at CC

We've never been. I was wondering about adult supervision while at Pelican Plunge. Would you let your 8 and 11 year olds go by themselves if you were sitting out over by the cabanas? How deep is the water where the slides drop them? Both kids can swim, but I have no idea what the conditions are like.

You have to be able to swim out to the raft the slides are on. The water at the plunge is about 8 feet deep (at least). I know I couldn't hit the bottom when I just sank down.

There are three lifeguards at Pelican Plunge. One at the top of the slide, one on a tower watching them come down, and one on the beach where you swim out to the slide.

Are the kids required to wear life jackets? Is there an option for life jackets? Can adults swim with their kids to the raft or is it a hard core no adults allowed? Can adults go on those slides?

Yes life jackets are available and advised unless you are a really strong swimmer.

These slides are predominantly for older children that can swim easily and for adults. These are not kiddie slides.

Depending on size and age of the child, they may be required to wear a life vest. Pelican Plunge is open to all ages.

Anyone who can swim out can go on the slides. Yes, adults can go on the slides.

I thought there was a place where the smaller kids were taken for kids club. Is that Scuttles Cove or something? I think I'm mixing my brain up!

There's that for the younger ones also. It's land based play area.

I wonder why they don't have a shallow water play/slide area for younger children?

There is a place where children rin through shooting water. I think it is called Spring a leak.

With the tide, it would be hard to create a shallow area for a slide.

That's a great site! I've never seen it before. Is it new?
