The Boo Boos are missing the sparkle.gif "smiley" gifted to them by the Tag Fairy.
That smiley is now displaying as a Red Cross (depending on which browser you're using) and we're probably on the verge of rivalling that particular charity organisation with the number of Red Crosses in existence on the Dis. It really is the gif....that keeps on gif-(st)ing! (BTW - If the TF is lurking, I do appreciate the Boo Boo tag....but I really was an innocent bystander in Kimmar's little war. I was quite happy with my previous tags! And I really really do want to keep those PiO smileys! Hmmm....although I should say that I am grateful for whatever gift you might care to bestow.)

The op avatar to the left of the boo boo text is broken.
It is trying to call http://www.emotihost.com/ver1/sparkle/1.gif The site no longer exists or changed domain names and didn't fwd the old names. So any avatar calling to that site will be broken now. The princess and smiley icons are not broken because they are hosted on domain controlled by the boards (wdwinfo.com). If anyone is still seeing what others see as broken icons, it could be because you have the image cached. (Not 100% certain on that though).

Then just backtrack to the original domain and you can tell if the whole site is down or maybe they just moved or renamed a directory. Looks like they are back now.
