Teppan Edo

Does Teppan Edo have a kids menu? Does it have American food? If so are adults allowed to eat off of it? DH would like the food but I'm picky.

They do have a kids menu, but if memory serves me correctly, it is just a scaled down version of the adult menu. The food is American, just done on the habatchi grill, with a show. My 2 DD love it, it has been a must meal for the last 3 years.

Also, don't overlook the fact that the "adult" food at TE is American food. There is nothing truly Japanese about hibachi cooking other than the cooks themselves. If you enjoy steak, chicken or shrimp, you will do fine there even if you are picky, whatever that means in this context.

You can find the menu on allears.net, but as the previous poster said, it's just a scaled down version of the adult's menu. You won't find anything that is very Asian. If you like grilled meats or veggies, you should be fine.

Teppanyaki style cooking was developed in Japan to introduce Japanese style flavors to American GI's stationed there after WWII.

It then moved to America. I have heard if you go to Japan you will only see these places around American Military bases. Also there is a Benihana's there but its Benihana's of New York.

But if you look at the menus its plain rice, not fried thats Chinese, with grilled meats and veg. There may be some "exotic" dipping sauces but thats about it.

SO Teppen Edo food is an American as Chop Suey.
