The second week of January we did TT first, single rider 2 times upon park entry. Since everyone else was still doing the vehicle configuration our group was able together from the single rider line. In fact the very first time there was no one in standby.

We then went over to Soarin, got a fastpass, rode, had a snack and then rode with the fast passes. This was a low crowd day, obviously.

But doing TT via single rider will probably always be the best way to do so if you can get there at opening. Saying that, the new version is nothing to go crazy over. It is still the same ride with different lights.

Just got back this afternoon - rode TT and Soarin' yesterday - had FP's for both.

Mebbe its just me, but while I enjoyed both attractions, neither really lived up to the hype I was expecting. To be honest, I preferred the 'old' version of TT. If I had to hit the standby line for either, it wouldn't be for very long. Did wait in standby almost 70 minutes for RnRRC at DHS Tuesday, that I didn't mind. Why didn't we do the FP? It had us coming back at 8pm and we had ADR's for Boma.

JMHO and YMMV.......

I was at Epcot on Saturday. Soarin' is my favorite ride in WDW. I got on the 2nd ride of the day (could have gotten on the first, but elected to wait for row 1). Then I grabbed a FP for it so I could ride again later. After that, I went over to TT to jump in the standby line and what do you know? It was broken down. Shocker. We went back a few hours later and it was running. We pulled FPs for much later in the day, but we'd planned to spend the whole day in the park, so that was not of concern to us.

If you don't care to ride either one more than once, I'd go pull a FP for Soarin' and then get in the TT standby line. First of all, you'll have a FP for something you know you'll be able to ride (I've never seen Soarin' down, while I've seen TT down more than once). Also, if you do FP for TT, you can't design your own car. This diminished the experience for us...I was really looking forward to seeing if I could design something that would hold up. However, I wasn't going to stand around until the ride came back up, nor was I going to stand in a 100 minute standby line when I went back later. So I either had to FP or not ride.

Thank you all so much. We will be there the first week of February so aside from cheerleaders I don't expect crowds to be too high.
I have been watching the times each day and I think the best thing to do would be get soarin fast pass and ride test track then possibly do it all again. My daughter is four so we can't do single rider line. Thanks again!
