Port of miami... Disneyfied?

I've always seen pics of the embarkation port for disney cruiseline in canaveral with the scale model of the Wonder and the entrance tunnel in the shape of classic Mickey. This will be our 8th cruise but first Disney cruise. Does anyone know if there have been Disney enhancements made at the port of Miami???

Just signs and banners. I don't remember a display of a ship anywhere (and there isn't much room).

There is a waiting room way in the back where they do Character meets and photos while you wait. Not impressive. The wall behind and above the check in desks is glass, so you can actually see the ship, including the characters on the outside who are 'painting and cleaning'.

remember the Canaveral building was built for and is used exclusively by DCL - that's in the contract

not so in Miami - that terminal is used by different lines on different days - Disney is a temporary user right now.

Yes, Port Canaveral is nice, but their Disney touches are one-of-a-kind.

I have to agree with this... I don't care one bit what the terminal looks like. Never sailed out of PC and it hasn't affected my amazing cruises one bit!

DH has had knee surgery and was hoping to see photos of the seating and how much there was.

Seating in the terminal? It is like at an airport boarding area, with the rows of seats that are connected and back-to-back. It is very crowded in there from 11 till 12:30 or so, depending on when actual boarding starts. The line to check in was very long for the non-CC members, and it ran through some of the seating. Most of the seats were taken.

There is also seating in a small area where there are Character Meets. THAT was crowded.

The wall behind the check in stations is glass and you can see the ship and you can watch the boarding groups walk across to get onto the ship (family of the day, Characters, crew). Not much else.

If you are worried about seating, you might want to board later.

Nancy

This was the only one I can find right now - it's a not so good panoramic I took waiting in line to check in. But I think it gives you a good sense of what the terminal is like (like an airport terminal with a few disney signs sprinkled about)

Can you tell me about the areas outside after Disembarking? Are there Washrooms, Shade area. We will be calling for Transportation once through Customs, and waiting about one hr.

My memory on disembarkation is a little foggy as we had an early flight and were focused on getting to the airport.

If memory serves me, once you get through customs you're basically out of the curb. There is a shade structure and some benches, but that's about it. We had arrived at the port a few minutes before 11:00 for embarkation and I know there was limited seating and no bathrooms for that.
