I've got two new-to-DCL families joining us on the single 2-nighter out of San Diego in 2014 that didn't and still would not commit to a 7-night cruise. But they booked the short one on opening day without hesitation.

We live in a little beach town near San Diego & can't wait 'til DCL comes here next year!

My husband (I think his name here is TheViking) and I are from a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm from a small town just north of here but Erik, the hubster, is from Oslo, Norway. Only moved to the USA for me... almost 19 years later he's still here.

Room numbers have to be coming soon! Otherwise my door will be full of updates for the FE

As soon as all the FE participants get their assignments please PM or email me. If you email me please include your Disname.

We're from Mountaineer country... Morgantown, WV. James' parents and my dad are from Thailand though. I actually remembered to try on my dresses for formal night tonight and they fit. I had them custom made in Thailand before our WBTA in 2011. They actually fit better now than before so I'm super excited because I remember having a hard time zipping it up over my hips on the cruise.

That is excellent news! I tried on some shorts and capris today and have a few that fit. I may get another pair of capris or two, but am almost set.

Scott is a born Hoosier, while I'm a transplanted Michigander - currently living in central Indiana.

Suitcases (1 checked bag each - either 1 or 2 carryons, hopefully!) are about 1/2 - 2/3 packed - need to try on dresses & bottoms one more time and make final decision on what gets packed - I've got my evening outfits decided on (there WILL be repetition - no judging!) - just need to figure out what I want to wear during the day!

FE gifts in pretty good shape - need to make a few more of the homemade item and decide whether to assemble ahead of time or once we get on the ship.

Disneyland after the Cruise

So I now realize that I am completely spoiled by Walt Disney World.

I booked 3 nights at Disneyland awhile ago thinking I would be able to see all of the evening shows only to check the schedule yesterday to find out that just one of the four evening shows will be held during my stay - "World of Color" which I am excited to see of course.

But I am so bummed about missing the "Mad T Party"! Plus it was such a surprise that there would be no fireworks at Disneyland. Maybe I am wrong but seems like Magic Kingdom has fireworks every night.

Oh well, this isn't that big of a deal just a slight disappointment and now I am trying to make new plans and have made some dinner reservations in the evening that I would not have otherwise.

But anyone else have suggestions for entertainment in the evenings at Disneyland?

At least we have only a few snow flurries off and on. Nothing that sticks.

Downtown Disney always has some performers out and about in the evenings. Have you been to DL before? DTD is right there in CA as opposed to a bus ride away at WDW. A stroll thru DTD always has some music we enjoy stopping and listening to. We are heading to bed by 11ish so we can be back in the parks at 9 when they open. So just an hour or so for us after park closing at 9.

That is definitely a plus that everything is walking distance I will definitely check out DTD. Thanks!

It is a shame you miss the fireworks with them only being on at the weekends at this time of year. I believe it is because DL is so close to residential areas, unlike Disney World, so they cut the times. I don't know why other shows aren't running during the week though. I really think the fireworks are better even than Magic Kingdom and I am sorry we won't get to see them this time. I think they should have the fireworks just because so many of us will be there!!! Both our last 2 PC's we docked at the weekends so managed to see them. At least you do get to see WOC which is very special.

78 degrees in North Georgia - MUCH better than upstate New York, from whence we came! Bid on a HUD house yesterday. Now the waiting begins.
