That is absolutely terrible OP.
I can't imagine someone even thinking that way on a DC.
Oh well, Karma will come.

We were on the 3rd sailing of the Fantasy when my husbands sunglasses were stolen from the cubies at the Aquaduck. The cast member told him no glasses were allowed on the ride and to leave them there.

When we got off and went back they were gone. We checked with Guest Services everyday and no sign of them. Very disappointing!

I'm in denial that this happens with Disney. It's supposed to be magical people!

We bought our Apple Photo Connector from Walmart. So if you don't have an Apple store near you, check there. We love ours. The only downside is making the room on the iPad for all of the pictures to download. But it's a small price to pay for piece of mind .

So sorry about your camera getting stolen. I would be devestated.

If you have a label maker, put your last name and room number on your camera/electronics. If it gets lost, hopefully, altruism runs it's course.

The hardest part about a lost item besides honesty, is locating and reuniting it with it's owner.

Yea, but unfortunately...lost and stolen are two different things. If someone steals it, they won't care what your room number is...you're not getting it back.

True, however, my suggestion makes things easier if you have the time to do it and it does get picked up by an honest person.

Someone had the nerve to walk up and take it off the table next to you? Karma will catch up with them.

Apparently Samsung makes a new camera that can automatically upload your pictures to a website immediately as you take them. I know with the Samsung phones you can already do this. If the camera get stolen at least you still have your pictures. Perhaps a solution for the future.

There are so many surveillance cameras everywhere today, you would almost think Disney could just pull up the footage check who did it and go and get it from them.

That's great if there is an internet connection for the upload to take place. I shudder at the cost and time necessary to do so on a cruise ship.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view of such things), they aren't everywhere...especially on cruise ships.

We have a samsung galaxy 7" tab and the adapter so we can transfer pics to it. It was cheaper than the ipad at the time and smaller/lighter ( we bought it when we went to Japan when trying to pack light). We put highlights of our pics on each night since I take so many and could easy fill up the tab. But I'd have enough pics to not be too upset if something happened to the rest of them.

Op, I'm sorry your camera was stolen. What a lousy thing for someone to do.

The camera shop (whatever's it's called) should provide a service, charge a nominal fee if need be, to backup your photos/vids on your own USB should you desire.
It's just moving data, no special software.

The DIY way is to have a camera connector for your iOS device or use an android tablet that accepts SD cards for backup, next to bringing your own notebook.

When the thief or person who would find it turns on the camera you would see all of that information when scrolling through the pics.
Maybe they would have a change of heart and at least mail the SD card-one can hope anyway.
That's a GREAT tip!!

I agree. With so many cameras looking alike, sometimes it can be difficult to know which one is yours.
I made and laminated a small tag with my name and cell phone number and tied it on to the camera strap. Think very small luggage tag. It could help.

camera stolen

I had a video camera lost at wdw and my homeowner insurance and the hotel I stayed at gave me money to buy a new one of cause I lost all what wa on video. If you but a new camera engrave you name and last four numbers of your SSI this way it would be hard for someone to take it to a pawn shop and sell it and also put you name and address in the camera bag and dont leave the camera unattented
