Golf Carts to Fort Wilderness
Question for the pros. My family is staying at WL at the end of January. would like to go over to Fort Wilderness on the first night for the marshmallow roast and campfire sing along. However, don't really want to pile everyone back in the car to drive over there but think a walk might do the youngest in even with strollers. Can I rent a golf cart from Ft. Wilderness and drive it over to pick them up and take them back. Thought it would be a nice option. Appreciate the knowledge from the experts!

Not 100% sure, but I don't believe the carts are allowed off Ft. Wilderness property. Why not take the boat?

You won't be able to take the golf cart over to WL. The campfire is a bit of a walk from the marina. You can ride the yellow bus from the settlement depot which is right by the marina and it would only be the second or third stop. They both will take you to the campfire. The campfire is right by the 1400 loop, bike barn and meadow recreation area.

There is a Bus and a Boat that go from WL to FW. Once in the FW complex, whichever way you choose to go, just ask the first internal FW bus driver which bus to get on. (the boat personel and bus driver from WL might know as well)

It's physically possible to do what you'd like to do as there is a road that links FW and WL but it's not permissible. The road has those pesky 'No Admittance / Cast Members Only / Violator's Will Be Shot" signs. I've always wanted to try it myself just to see if I could explore the route. During the day it's regularly traveled with CM, vendors, etc. but I imagine it slows down pretty good in the evening. All depends on how adventurous you are.
We're going to be there in April, maybe I'll be adventurous!
